I am starting nursing school soon, Yay! And I need to find some white or black comfortable shoes. I was wondering if you guys have any suggestions?

Price will not matter if they are comfortable and durable.

Thanks!

Good Luck, with both school and finding comfortable shoes. My suggestion is a good arch support, and don't buy something you have to "break in". I've been looking for the perfect pair for years-comfortable, durable, and cheap. Haven't found them yet (the drawback is that 3rd requirement).

Everytime this question comes up, I reply with the same answer..

NIKE SHOX! I have always had a problem with shoes/sneakers/boots. After a few hours, my toes would hurt so bad I could barely walk. Add to the fact that I have "falling arches".

I got a pair of Nike Shox, put them on and have never looked back! I swear by them. I put them on at 4am and normally they don't come off until 10 or 11pm. Never do I think, gessh, I can't wait to take my shoes off.

They are a bit pricey (can range from $90-$130 depending on what style and material you get around here) but to me, they are worth each and every cent!

I have bad feet and wear orthodics in my street shoes. For work I wear Birkstocks or Alpro's (alrpo's are made by birkenstock). I found a website that ships straight from Germany and if anyone wants it just IM me and I'll let you know. I just purchased 2 pair of shoes for $140 -the normal price for 1 pair. Merry Christmas everyone.

RClogz lights by Cherokee---only about $35(cheaper on allheart.com!) and they are great!!! Very light weight. I'm on my second pair and won't trade them for ANYTHING!(Very supportive shoe with removable insole.)

I've put the link below for your convenience!

Danskos. Kind of expensive, but worth it.

I have to agree with Natania! Dansko are the most comfortable shoe I have ever worn. They are fairly pricey but this is your career and your body that you are talking about. The shoes are very durable so you will not be replacing them yearly. Not to mention that they are solid leather so nothing grose will end up on your socks! You can find them on line for a little less than in stores but you will need to try them on and get a good fit before you can buy on-line. They are European sizing and also fit differently than standard shoes. I still say that they are worth every penny and the time spent to get them. Your back will thank you. :thankya:

I think I have tried just about every brand of shoe available in my hometown. I like nurse mates, but they wear out within a couple months. Dr. Scholls wear out even faster. The only shoes I have found so far that last me and are super comfy are Dansko and Crocs. I only like the newer version of Danskos (the ones without staples visible) Danskos are great because they are comfy, last a long time, easy to clean, and they have a hard toe! The toes of mine are so scratched from me running my foot over with things and accidentally kicking things. Danskos will cost you over 100.00 Crocs are great because they are cheap, comfortable and really easy to clean. Crocs will cost you anywhere from 20.00-40.00. Just beware of the "croc stop" ;)

Once got a pair of SAS shoes on sale for $15 and they were so comfortable! They were a little tight. The shoe salesperson said that shoes should be a little snug. I wore those shoes until they just fell apart. Before that, I discovered some cheap all white shoes made out of synthetic material at Mervyn's. Believe it or not, they were very comfortable and durable. I told the others at work and they started going there to get that particular shoe. Unfortunately, Mervyn's stopped carrying that shoe or one similar to it.
