The last time I spoke to one of their representative in LA area said that BSN program from High school graduate will be in the LA campus too. "will be" I dunno if that pushes already. you can actually call the LA campus and asked. LVN to RN is you have to have license for LVN. BSN program, you just need your high school diploma. But then again, I will look into that if I were you. good luck !!!

about the book. you should be careful on buying them. Not all books are being used. if you can ask student ahead of you, tell them that you are willing to buy, that will be good. ask them also what are the books they actually use. this is also good in developing networking to the advance students and borrow notes. ( that just a tip). I got some books that are not used at all and still stuck with me. never have the time to read them because the term is so fast.

math was a good experience for me. Areolla was good but I heard she left west coast already. I didn't take anything else but math. I heard about the psych1 and lifespan. if Biggerstaff is the instructor. he is the one that requires exams in the morning. if you are late no exam. he is strict and loud but I heard he is good. chem is one thing too. although the instructor "singha" is very smart. the language barrier really is the reason. he has a very strong accent. Microbiology was cool too but I heard the instructor " Dr Pepper" is not there anymore. Even so, be it a new instructor or not, anything you need you ask help. do not hesitate to ask. VOICE OUT your concerns. it is best if you do it in a group. Go to the VP. but of course talk to the instructor first. hope that helps

about the job. while we are still taking our last ten weeks, we are applying for all the versant and new grad programs hospitals offer. It's tough not because we are WCU graduate but the economy right now compensates with the opening. Unfortunately, not a lot of hospitals can afford new grad programs/ versant. I heard they cost like $35,000 because it will take 4 months to 6 months. so while we are busy with out KAPLAN, We are attending interviews here and there. I myself was not able to get the new grad. but the hospital offer me precertorship and willing to train. :)

I took LVN to RN. I had some prerequisites done so it took me 12 months.. I don't know anybody who had master program. I was ready to take their BSN program at WCU but university of Phoenix is cheaper and has online class. I love WCU. I did not have a hard time taking my NCLEX because hesi exams. good luck to you

it is not true that magnet hospitals do not accept west coast students. In fact my 2 classmates are there right doing the versant program at childrens. and 3 are in Cedars sinai. Instructors are good this depends also on the rapport of student- instructor. Iheartnursing, IPASSSEDDDDDD, i WILL BE WORKING in NICU, los angeles...thanks for all your encouragements..

o wow! i remember when I started our hesi for nursing transition is 75 and when I finished last august 08 was 85%. I guess they are pushing it. so far my batch's NCLEX passing rate was 94% yahoo!!! finished school end of august and took the NCLEX first week of September. I may say Hesi played a good teaching ground in terms of test taking. because when I took my NCLEX I was pretty confident and stopped at 75. I really hope the school will be recognized pretty soon. ( my only wish as an alumni, hahhaha)

I may be wrong with your questions. I think what they are talking about is that the school credits are not recognized by most of Universities. But I know WCU is working on it by continiously increasing the passing percentage of the Hesi testing. i do not know about the BSN because I took the adn. But I have talked to University of phoenix and have my transcript evaluated and they said they will credit it. I would go to WCU but I like to try the online which WCU doesnt have. if you have concerns. you can also ask the CA RN board.

mind you, that when you graduate, Kaplan review is also inclusive with the price you pay. that is $600+ inclusive. so all you have to think about is gas in your car, food, and brain. :)- West Coast University?
that is really tough. If you are debating about the cost. It is overwhelming but I think in my opinion, if you 2 years are cut off in your schooling, you are probably working for 2 years and making money. where us in CSU you still not sure when will you get in to the program. the price in WCU books are inclusive. I am not sure what is the generic BSN. From what I understand is that, generic is something you started with and LVN and graduate an ADN which WCU also offers. But the BSN is straight all the way. weigh everything. Plus if you are approved for the loan. you will not be paying till you graduate. hope that helps- West Coast University?
i didn't know that either. Sorry.- West Coast University?
work? i did not work in the whole process but i have classmates that do work fulltime (one was a mother of 5 with 2yr old twins and still working full time) and yet she manages to be a cum laude. we have one that is young, everything is paid for by parents and still repeated the course 3x. what i am saying is that, it all depends on the person on how determined you are and how serious the person is. good luck!!! just email me privately and i will gladly help you out in any way i can. - West Coast University?
