Cocaine and Urine Drug Screens

Does anyone know how soon and how long it takes for cocaine to show up on a uds after it's used and how long it will show up on one, i.e. it will continue to show up 1 day or 1 week or 1 month after it's used?

No it is not as misinformation city as one might think.

Well I was going by what you said, "Unless they check your hair" Then "anything you've done in the past 6 or so months shows up "

I think I misunderstood what you were trying to say, I thought you were trying to say a UDS can detect things up to six months.

UDS or Blood Tox screen does now show any drug if you last used it 6 months ago.

:chuckle A correctional officer told my nurse friend that if you drink lots and lots of orange juice you can get a negative drug screen. I don't know if that's true or not but my nurse friend and I sure had a lot of fun teasing each other about being sure to drink a lot of orange juice before coming into work. :rotfl:

I personally don't use cocaine. I would NOT trust OJ with my career :p

Hopefully noone here uses any recreational drug including pot, which has negative effects on one's short term memory. If anyone is using drugs or abusing alcohol, get help!!! We've lost two nurses in the past two years because of these problems...:o

:crying2: Help me I had a random drug screen at work and it came up positive for cocaine. Due to this i was fired. They might even turn me in to the board of nursing :angryfire I asked for a repeat test and my employer refused to allow it. I asked the MRO what rx's might cause me to fail this test he said none. I did have a crown put on my tooth. I'm not sure how long this lidocaine stays in your body. I can appeal the termination. It will be like court in front of 7 ppl. I think I might try it what do i have to loose? What do ya'll think?

Welcome to allnurses.com.

Here is all I can say: My next stop would be to a nurse attorney's office for advice----and dealing with your state/provincial BON.

These sorts of threads have a history of being loaded with misinformation and even people making claims/statements/recommendations on how to "beat drug tests". This is not the venue for these things.

I again recommend anyone facing such troubles seek legal advice from a qualified counselor/attorney as soon as possible. Best wishes.
