Does anyone know how soon and how long it takes for cocaine to show up on a uds after it's used and how long it will show up on one, i.e. it will continue to show up 1 day or 1 week or 1 month after it's used?

I know because I had had a rare lapse and smoked pot about a month before applying for a new job that required a drug screen and I found all the info online. Ironically, pot, the mildest drug stays in your system the longest, the other ones clear relatively quickly.

Unless they check your hair. Then anything you've done in the past 6 or so months shows up.

Misinformation city lol.
A google search will give you the specifics, but as a general rule *Most* things are not detectable after about a week (but everyone is different and metabolizes said drugs differently). Marijuana is the exception, something about being fat soluble, but again it depends on the person, it might stay detectable by the standard UDS for 2 weeks or >month.
As far as the hair test (which I have never heard of any facility using), it depends on hair length, if you have hair down to your waste and it doesn't grow very fast I imagine they could test several years in the past. But again, I have never heard of any facility ever doing a hair test.

No it is not as misinformation city as one might think.
Do a search on this site for hair and drug screens and you'll find the thread regarding this topic. It is not years though and has nothing to do with the length of your hair. Its in the follicle. And its up to 90 days >.

Hair Analysis
This information is based on a written consensus opinion from Society of Forensic Toxicologist, Inc. on applicability of hair analysis for drugs of abuse. Their concerns focused on consistency of detection of drugs and interpretation of the results and the application of the testing procedure based on the necessitating circumstances. The biggest issue was quality control.
The advantages:
Less invasive procedure in obtaining a sample.
Longer detection window, up to 90 days for most drugs of abuse.
Ability to detect true break down products of certain drugs (cocaine and marijuana) in confirmation of internal exposure.
Ability to assess chronic drug use over an extended period of time.
