FSCJ Fall 2012

U.S.A. Florida

Hey everyone!! I just wanted to start a new topic since it doesn't seem there are any discussions yet about anyone who is applying to the Nursing program for Fall 2012. I'm a little nervous right now b/c I will still be enrolled in Micro when I apply. Without Micro I will have a 189. I'm still going to apply (with my fingers crosse) in hoped I get in or even get a call from someone denying. If I end up with at least a B I'll have 201 total points. From what I've read a 201 should be guaranteed but then I'd have to wait until Spring. Fingers crossed a 189 w/o Micro will be enough for Fall! I'm so ready to start this program. Nervous & excited. Any tips/pointers would be greatly appreciated =)

I had 211, that's the nat score plus my class points.

My pts were 204 total.

If im not mistaken, i have 193.

Thanks! You ROCK! Can't wait to meet you. I sent in my request to join.

Good Morning Everyone,

Congratulations! I wish every one of you good luck!! I, unfortunately will not be able to accept my seat...I just cannot seem to find a way to make the day schedule work. So needless to say I'm a little bummed. It is what it is. Anyways, I was wondering if anyone else is going to decline their seat? I'm looking at the packet right now, and I see where I can call and leave a VM, but on the last paragraph of the first page it states: " If you are unable to participate in the Orientation for the Fall 2012 Term, and you wish to be considered for acceptance in the Associate Degree Nursing program at a future date, please follow these steps: [...] ". It then gives a numbered list that says I need to write a letter declining my acceptance into the program, but it doesn't give an address, email address, or nothing. I'm confused-lol. I'm sure I'm seriously over-thinking this, but does anyone know the correct procedure?

I have to decline my seat twice and I just called and left a voicemail. I'm in again, so it doesn't seem to be a problem :). I totally know your pain of getting in, really wanting to go an not being able to, twice I've had to do that! And still may have to this time if I cannot find a sitter for my children, good luck in the future!

Sorry! I meant to type I've had to decline my seat twice, hate when I can't type!

@LaceyRae,

Thank you for responding! I went ahead and called and declined my seat this morning-talk about a gut-wrencher :( Just have to push away the bitter-sweetness of the whole situation and carry on :)

I hope you will be able to go this time! I understand how difficult it can be to find childcare while you are in school. I'll have to do the same when (if) I get into N/W for Spring. I'm probably going to start recruiting some friends and family now-lol. I wish you luck!

I can't find the package code either for the background check, and I understand for you ladies that can't find childcare, I am worried myself about that. Especially, since I can't get the child care grant until after my summer grades come in because of some stupid Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) crap. Like they assume I'm going to have a problem with that when I made the presidents list last semester! So because I'm enrolled in micro and wont be done with that until August I have to wait till then to apply and supposebly the deadline is the 27th of this month, but the financial aid advisor said I still could apply? Doesnt make any sense to me at all. And then after I do apply it still takes 4 weeks to go through. So im most likely going to be paying 125wk or 500/month for daycare on campus, until the grant goes through in Sept, thats my rent! But, my mom is so ecstatic that I made it because we were both young mothers and she never finished college that she is going to help me out as much as possible. Either way, I'm doin it! I have to or I'll graduate soon. I've worked so hard, I can't give up now. Good luck ladies and keep your head up high :)

add me on the fb page please!!!

Congrats to all of you who got in to the Fall 2012 program!! I am just completing first term and I can tell you it is a doozie!! If anyone is interested, I have all of the books for the program for sale, they are current as of last term and I have them listed on craigslist... So if you are one of the individuals who did not qualify for financial aid, don't despair!

Thanks everyone and again congratulations!!!
