Good Morning Jess, In regards to the physical-I was informed that we cannot get that done until after we have received our acceptance packet, and or email. I looked back at my old packet from last term, and it pretty much says as much. It states that the physical must be completed after the letter date...has this changed? If so, I'm going to go ahead and get a jump-start :)

There are only 24 seats available for N/W!! I'm pretty sure our scores are quite competitive though :) I'm just trying to stay in the positive over here lol

I think you'll be pretty solid with a score like that :) Well done!! I'm hoping to get into the N/W schedule with 220pts & some change. I wonder if we will be hearing through emails, or letters this go around...shoot, I'm looking out for a carrier pigeon at this point Good luck everyone!!

Thank you for letting us all know! I swear FSCJ likes to switch things up on a regular basis. I guess we should get used to it...if we get into the program, of course. Oh, and have fun with your class!! The AED is actually pretty cool. The one I practiced with sang, "Staying Alive" by the Bee Gees

Yikes!!!!! I hope my CPR certificate comes soon! I hand-delivered my application on August 6th, and I didn't even think to ask. I'm on hold for CJ right now...

That's my worry...being burned out. I know everyone says how crazy hard this program is; especially the 1st semester, but I'm wondering just how challenging it is going to be? My husband is a trip-he keeps telling me that I'm an Amazon warrior who kicks a** lol anything to keep my spirits up I guess :) Is it December yet?!? This waiting is so for the birds!

From what I have read, it seems that many facilities will hire us because we are RN students. Of course, proof that we are students will need to be provided. We just have to make sure we get through that 1st semester with clinicals! If you wanted to go ahead and get certified, I think you can challenge the CNA exam at any time. I have a cousin who did just that! She studied a few books and watched a ton of youtube tutorials. She passed it no problem :) I'm also still 'on the fence' about keeping my FT job...I put N/W as my 1st choice, but if for some reason school and work become too much, then I will have to see about going PT or quitting. I am so nervous about not being able to keep up with everthing: work, school, a wildly awesome toddler, and the hubs:nailbiting: It's definitely going to be an experience-just hoping it's a good one!!

I have actually heard that after we complete our first semester (mainly 'Foundations of Nursing') that we will qualify as CNAs. If you look at the job requirements, it usually says something to that effect. I have searced St. Vincent's, Baptist, Shands, Mayo...they all have postings!! My plan is to start applying to these types of jobs as soon as I am eligible :) It will be a dramatic pay cut, but I think the experience will be worth it! Plus, having a foot in the door cannot hurt!
