Nursing Students Excelsior

Don't let anyone tell you that EC graduates are not taken seriously in the world of nursing. I had an interview today and my interviewer was a graduate from EC. She is the DON of an ICU hospital. I got the job, btw.

Boom! Let others be jelly.

Specializes in Hospital medicine; NP precepting; staff education.

Congratulations!

Ever Upward.

EC alumna 2001

Awesome to hear! I've been a little apprehensive, but still enrolled.. Can't wait to finish!

Congratulations!! I have been considering going through EC to obtain my RN, but have been apprehensive about it because I have read that students have to go to NY to do the clinicals. Is this true? How does the clinical part work??

Specializes in EMS, ED, Trauma, CEN, CPEN, TCRN.

Woo hoo! Congrats. As an EC grad, I have never been turned down for any job after interviewing. Seriously. It's the RN + experience that counts.

Specializes in Intensive Care.

That too was my concern before I enrolled in 2013. Would I obtain work as a newly licensed RN whose ASN degree was obtained online? I enrolled in March 2013 and came across a LPN whose nurse manager is an Excelsior graduate. I knew after that I made the right choice. I "heard" that 2 years LPN experience is equivalent to 1 year RN experience. But I don't know if that's true. Congratulations Nibbles1 í ½í¸ƒ

I went to Chamberburg, PA for my CPNE. There's multiple sites you can choose from.

Specializes in Case mgmt., rehab, (CRRN), LTC & psych.

One of my EC-alumnus coworkers (a per diem/PRN nurse) is a director of nursing services at a local skilled nursing facility during the week. Other EC grads in my city are also doing well.

Then again, I'm in Texas, a state with a reputation for being Excelsior-friendly.

That's great:yeah:

Congratulations on your new position.
