wish I had a nickel (or 1 penny, for that matter) for every patient who can not wait to get into the ER for their non-emergency complaint. Then, once they are in the back, keep bugging you about how long till they can leave. !
    Man...

Just think how RICH we would all be!!!!!

I wish I had a nickel for every "Yahoo" that says...

"I'm gonna sue you if you do...(fill-in-the-blank)"

Yea...just be sure to spell my name right on the subpoena...I HATE when people misspell my name!!!
Thank God I have not met this breed! LOL. :angryfire I have had people write just about everything I say down, but they haven't actually said the words "sue" to me! ARGH

I have even had people videotape me when staring an IV on their loved one, and when cleaning wounds and etc.

    I just smile and wave

That should be illegal, the same way that in most hospitals around here the family can't tape the delivery of a baby. No audio, video or still pics of the birth.
You can take pics of baby when it's on the warming table, but not during birth.

At least you don't end up in some kids baby book. I'm sure it's very rare that ED patients take videos of procedures to show to their family and friends. "Hey, I went to the ED for my n/v/d, wanna see the video? OK, there's the nurse, and look, he's starting my IV! Now he's giving me the emesis basin, oh, just in time, too!"

Anyole thing is possible here in Plano Texas
Republican stronghold in the state of texas
Ive seen it happen before and It will happen again.

I think the main criteria is they cant violate the privacy of another patient in the ER
As long as the one being viseotaped gives their consent

The old days I would have gotten angry
But Back then they didnt have those silly Vid Cams

Easier to smile and take the path of least resistance
This is the key to enlightenment

Today I want a nickel for every lunatic that came thru the ED doors...and that doesn't count the staff!

    OH MY GOD!

I think we had the ED filled with nothing but migraines all wanting narcs, lunch, and a cab voucher....

Or psychs wanting to kill themselves because they have no one...oh and a phone to call their 300 family members...

Or detoxers asking for help...and snorting up in the bathroom!!

    Let me say again...

    OH MY GOD!!!

I wish I had a nickel for all the times I've had to attempt to explain, in Spanish, why it's not a good idea to feed your 6 hour old baby 2 ozs of formula, and then think it's gonna breastfeed. Yes, I know it seems like you're not making any breastmilk, but you are making colostrum, which is better than milk, and a gazillion times better than any formula company ever produced.

Then I get to explain it again to the mother-in-law, who thinks I'm an idiot, and her dau-in-law is trying to starve the grandchild.

I'm thinking of asking the NM to install a brick wall for me to bang my head against.
