What EDIS are you currently using? What were you using prior? How many yearly visits does your ED have and how many inpatient beds?

We are currently using Medhost, which is great, but the hospital inpatient side is going to Paragon. We are wondering if there are any other out there currently using Paragon inpatient and Medhost ED! Also, anyone using Paragon EDIS in a larger hospital setting (350+) beds greater than 50,000 visits yearly how is it going?

Thanks!

I am from a Level II ED with approx 50k annual visits and approx 15,

Next weekended were moving from ancient paper charting (with supplemental ACSIS) to completely online EPIC computer systems.

We seem fairly well prepared but the next month or two should be quite interesting.

We use EPIC housewide. I hated medhost. ;) we see upwards of 50000 patients a year.

We are a 90-bed Level 1 center. Can't remember the number of patients seen on average but I know we have seen in the mid-300 range often this year.

We use Wellsoft. I've only used one other system at another facility and I can say that Wellsoft is much easier to use. It is template based and it does work very well for us in talking to radiology, lab, etc. The floor uses iCare and some parts of W'soft will talk to iCare but not 100%.

I like it and think it is pretty easy to learn and use.

We just went from PulseCheck in the ED to EPIC housewide. There has been a learning curve but for the most part everyone has adjusted well. We have 74 beds, not counting the 2 trauma bays plus the hallway and waiting room beds where we often end up treating people. I believe we were at 130,000+ visits for this past fiscal year.

More and more hospitals seem to be going to EPIC... We use meditech at my hospital... VERY outdated..

We use meditech as well. I thought it was a joke when I first saw it as a student hahah

meditech isn't all that bad....IF...... and that is a big IF....your facility PAYS for the upgrades. It is very secure and hard to hack.

We are a level 1 trauma facility and use EPIC. Most seem to really like it. It's pretty user friendly for the most part.

I went from Allscripts HMED 7.1, to Wellsoft (huh?), to Allscripts EDIS (HUH?). Three different facilities, the latter is my current place. The nurses here used to use HMED and then "upgraded (sorry, but I consider it a downgrade)" to EDIS, which is pretty much the same as HMED, but the kid-version.

I got to play with EPIC when I volunteered at an ER before I became a nurse, I LOVE that program. Very expensive, though.

EPIC IS USED IN OUR ED. I USED WELLSOFT In the past and it was much more nurse friendly. EPIC IS OK

EPIC is a colossal piece of ****! I hate it to the very core. We used to use Medhost and we all loved it. House went epic, so we had to follow suit. We see around 40k per year. Level 2.
