I don't know if this is also a common trend anywhere else, but around here, I've seen SOOO many girls wearing scrubs as a "fashion statement." I've started chit-chatting with a few, starting out with something like "oh, are you a nurse? an aide? blah blah blah.." ......and they just stare at me, before they realize I'm referring to the scrubs. It irks me. Granted, I wear my scrubs casually sometimes, but damnit, I'm entitled to! lol. Anyone else feel my aggravation? :anbd:

haha, I don't think I've encountered that. But, I think I"d be more confused than anything. I don't find scrubs (even the more attractive ones) to be a look I'd wear outside of work.

It was a brief trend at my high school. But then again so was : wearing PJ's to school, wearing rain boots when it wasn't raining, wearing children's backpacks(im talking dora the explorer & carebears!),etc.. It will die out soon, they always do.

I've never seen that. But the previous post did make me flash back to when everyone covered their backpacks with keychains. You had to have a certain kind of LL Bean backpack and every zipper pull had like 3 keychains on it. lol.

I've never seen that... I've seen nurses/aides etc. after work or before work toolin around town in them- but other than that I've never seen people wear them just to wear them.

Around here, it's almost ALWAYS highschool students, OR older women trying to look like the little highschool students. As far as good looking scrubs go, we actually do have some pretty cute ones here.....I'm sure there's a correlation between the cute scrubs and the scrubs trend. (In other words, now that girls are wearing them, Walmart can make money off of them.) I'm actually surprised that I'm the only one noticing this...it seems like it's EVERYWHERE here, especially downtown. Eh, who knows?

The stupidest trend I've ever encountered was when I was in 6th grade....for a short minute, it was "cool" to NOT brush your hair in the morning and just come in looking all nasty. Then when I got into highschool, everyone wore bandanas and hideously bright BRIGHT blue eyeshadow, with or without glitter.

What really irks me is when something I've loved for a long time suddenly becomes a trend. For example, I have a borderline unhealthy obsession with the Beatles...I've loved them all the way back to when I listened to Breakfast with the Beatles every sunday morning, when my Dad would take me to work with him....and then, whaddaya know? Walmart starts selling old school Beatles logo t-shirts, and suddenly it's the next "thing."

Or hell, even NURSING has become a trend lately. I can't COUNT all the people in my school that are majoring in nursing. Great career? Yes. But I must question the motives of the girls I knew through highschool that had no idea what they wanted to do with their lives until the nursing "trend" came around.

ugh...sorry...little bit of a rant. lol I feel better now.

Nursing is fashionable, o my, that's funny. Maybe wearing depends will become a fashion statement too someday. I've often thought it would be nice if they made briefs in pretty colors or patterns, why can't the incontinent have nice undies too?

I have often seen people in scrubs that are just casualy shopping. Most look like Home Health sitters - and give me the impression many are want to bees (don't want to be rude but). Call me crazy also - me not knowing what the person's profession or where they have been - when I see scrubs the first thing I think of is GERMS, GERMS, GERMS. I usualy can't wait to take my scrubs off and shower after a shift.

Im sooo with you, I strip from the doorway as I get home. Call me crazy but I have big white twist tie garbage bags in a decorative hamper by my front door that I put my scrubs in. Come laundry time; its hot water and oxiclean. :lol2:

Some people have to wear them that work in cafaterias. Like at the schools and stuff. Also some people wear the shirts cause of the pockets. Makes it easier to carry stuff.

...... You've just hit on a great new product- take advantage and make a mint ;) (Even better if you can make the pretty colored briefs smell like mint rather than pooop......... :yeah: )
