Anyone here have experience with this? I am a practicing, full-time employed RN with no restrictions but I am currently on probation for disciplinary action that happened in 2012. I am looking to complete my BSN but am finding that most state schools do not accept an "encumbered" license. It doesn't appear to be an issue with some of the online private schools. I would appreciate any input!! :)

Will you be going to the board for this, and if so, when? I would say, wait until the review and your license becomes unencumbered again, then apply to school.

WGU requires an unencumbered license. I would wait until you no longer have this barrier in place.

What is the difference between unrestricted and unencumbered?

Go to Chamberlain's website they have a chat option that you can find out if they will take you in their program or not.

Pacific College in Costa Mesa, CA has an accredited online RN to BSN program and will take nurses on probation.

I'm doing Grand Canyon University I had to appeal their denial but since my issues were before I ever became a nurse I was able to be accepted. If you would like my contact persons information message me they know exactly what you need to do in order to appeal not all admission counsellors do. I highly recommend the program I love it

Hello,

I only know of Pacific College in Costa Mesa. Did you have any luck finding a program? I'm on the same hunt and would appreciate any guidance. Thanks!

Curious to know which online schools have you applied to? If the school is fully accredited I say you should go down that route.

did you ever find more info on this? Please share

Hello! I just spoke to an enrollment counselor and they told me they require an unencumbered license for admission. How did you go about appealing this requirement? Any help would be appreciated! Thanks
