  1. Just wanting to hear from other nurses on probation for substance abuse who have had health issues that made prescribed narcotics medically warranted. Did you get any trouble from your state board about taking them?
  2. I have been hired for multiple jobs while on probation. Being honest and up front about what happened and also explaining what reparations/changes you have made go a long way. "Be curious, not judgmental." -Walt Whitman
  3. In my state the answer is self-report. I got a lawyer and it was a waste of money. The board of nursing is concerned with protecting the public and the first thing they want to see is that you admit you have a problem. "Fighting" them with a lawyer is pointless if you've got a problem and it has gotten to the point that it's affecting you professionally. I can tell you from experience that starting recovery on your own ASAP and self reporting looks better than anything else. Good luck ❤️❤️
  4. Congratulations! I am currently studying for mine! Any pointers??
  5. Anyone here have experience with this? I am a practicing, full-time employed RN with no restrictions but I am currently on probation for disciplinary action that happened in 2012. I am looking to complete my BSN but am finding that most state schools do not accept an "encumbered" license. It doesn't appear to be an issue with some of the online private schools. I would appreciate any input!! :)
