Ontario Second-Entry Nursing (2017)

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey everyone :)

So fall just flew in so I thought what a great time it would be to start my nursing applications lol. It is very early, but I enjoy having this on my mind. I am in my final year at University and am hoping to be a nursing student come next September. I wanted to make a space where we could come together with a common goal: getting accepted. The schools I plan to apply are:

Trent, Toronto, Humber, Western and Queens

Possibly considering RPN programs as well.

I checked my Trent account today and it said my Casper results were received on the 17th March! So I'm sure they'll be showing up soon

Hi everyone :)!

I am in my 4th year of Health Sciences at Laurier and I am really looking forward to starting a new career as a nurse! I applied to Trent, McMaster, U of T, and Western. My average in the last 2 years is 10.8 and overall 10.4, in a 12 scale. However I am very worried because when I was taking Anatomy and Stats (Same Semester) I went through some family problems and my marks fell, so I have a C+ in Anatomy and C in Stats :(. Also I did not realize I would need a second physiology course, so I am not sure I meet the requirements for Western. In case I do not get in, I am thinking of coming back for a semester and redoing some courses and taking the extra physiology course. Good luck to everyone! This site is a godsend :).

P.S: Casper marks were received by Trent for those of you that are wondering, and they are still being prepared for McMaster.

Update: just checked my Trent account and it says my casper results were received today! :)

Has anyone heard back from Lakehead for the second round of offers? I read earlier that some people heard back late February - Early march, but I called them today and they said they are still waiting to send out the second round of offers.

Has anyone heard from York? I was creeping last year's forum and a lot of people were accepted later it seems...like May/June. I may just go crazy if that's the case!

I just called Western and was informed that the Compressed Time Frame program will not be sending out any additional acceptances until very late April, or May

When does Trent and U of T send out acceptances anyone know?

I just (as in 20 minutes ago) received an offer from Trent, so they seem to be sending out offers now! I am really hoping to hear back from UofT or Western though.

I spoke to someone from UofT a few weeks ago and they said that their largest round of acceptances happens in late May, and that all applicants will be informed of their status by June 30th no matter what. Hopefully that helps.

Anyone know how Nipissing will reach out regarding possible interviews (i.e. will it be via email or through the Nipissing online portal only?)

Good luck to everyone!

Did they say why? As in they are waiting for their first round picks to accept, or not. Or are they waiting for winter semester marks in order to accept more people? Omg so stressful:cry:

They told me that they haven't sent out any acceptances yet... but i've seen a handful of people post on here, so I have no idea to be honest.

Hey, do you mind letting me know what your average was when you applied to Trent? Thank you!

Congratulations on the offer hopefulgal! I was just curious as to if you had all you prerequisites met for Trent as of now? I am doing my SCH4U online, and was wondering whether they send out conditional responses or wait for the course to be completed.

I am also eager to hear back from Nipissing and UofT. When I spoke to Nipissing they said to "check your email in coming weeks". That was March 13th, so hopefully we will know soon via email.
