Kwantlen Sept 2016 Post-Bacc Admission

World Canada CA Programs

Published

Hey Everyone!

I applied to the September 2016 intake for the post-bacc program at Kwantlen. So far all I know is that they have "received" my application.

Does anyone know if the ministry curriculum revisions for the 4-year program also apply to the 2-year post-bacc? I also have not been asked for any transcripts yet?

I completed a Kinesiology degree at UBC in 2015.

Thanks for the heads up on registration, I was really confused as to why it wasn't working!

Has anyone received transfer credit for any courses yet?

Haven't done immunizations yet...I haven't received much information regarding that..

Thanks for letting us know! I haven't had any immunizations yet either (again little info). I emailed *** and a friend who is just finishing the program this year. I'll get back to ya'll once I find out. I am also reading the 2014 Post Bacc forum to get an idea but I don't want to get ahead of myself and do stuff that I don't need, too soon.

As for any transferred courses, no idea? I don't know which courses would be transferable since they're nursing courses at a 500 level?

Here's a list of vaccations needed for adults to get idea what we may potentially need but we should wait to see what the schools says.

B.C. Immunization Schedules - HealthLink BC

Hi everyone,

*** just emailed me back. See her response about the immunization requirement:

"they will go over this with you once you start the program."

Now we can relax a bit lol. Anyone else with any more info please keep in touch. Thank you!

Someone mentioned that they might do transfer credit for the stats courses..I could be wrong but hopefully they'd consider it!

Also, stethoscope.ca has some pretty reasonable prices. I bought the Classic II SE as I hope to use it for a while.

hey everyone - did we get a fb group up and running yet?

Hey guys!

I just discovered this forum, I'll be starting the post bacc nursing program at KPU sept 2016 as well! Can't wait to meet you all!!

Do any of you guys know if there is a certain requirement for which iPad we need to have (mini/regular, 2012 edition/2016 edition etc? ) I have an older version iPad mini and would be great if I'd be able to use it!

Has a Facebook group at all been started? I realize there was talk about it in prior comments just don't know if it happened!? Id be happy to make one if one hasn't been made. Hope to hear from you guys soon!

I know this program says it's 7 semesters but how long is it in terms of calendar years from start to finish? Are the semesters consecutive like UBC's program?

Hey guys! I just created a facebook group. Its called "KPU Nursing Post-baccalaureate Class of 2018" Feel free to join!

Yes the terms are consecutive.. I plan on using an older Ipad as well if I can get away with it.

Also, transfer credit is posted!

Hey, where is transfer credit posted? What do you mean? I've e-mailed them about it but haven't heard back yet because the girl is on vacation...

Search under records and then transfer credit.. Maybe they're still processing it?

Hi palsl,

Thanks for getting the FB page set up! I just sent a request to join so you know who I am. Perhaps, we can do a head count when school starts so we don't have any unwanted random people in the group lol.

Also, Melissakuiper, I have a 1st gen ipad mini 16G! i hope the dinosaur machine will work! but the software is up to date. So, well see if it works, if not then I hope my mac book will be able to download the apps. If worst comes to worst then I'll probably get a refurbish ipad from Apple because it's like a brand new one with the same warranty but at a discounted price. (Blah too many Apple products)

Anyway, have any of you purchased your books yet? I bought all mine from Amazon and I probably saved at least $100. I searched for the book by ISBN because I wasn't sure if I had the right edition just by searching for the book name. If you sign up for a student account from Amazon you'll get free 2 day shipping for 6 months. But 2 of the text books that we need will take 1 month to get delivered, which I'll receive right when classes start. I think if you guys purchase right now, you'll receive in time as well, since the first 2 weeks of school is the residency. I don't know if we'll need our text books right away?

Thanks and can't wait to meet u all!
