  1. I don't think anyone has dropped out so far...although from what I hear from the cohort a year ahead of us that may start happening more during the clinical in the summer (either due to not passing, or deciding they don't like it) but I don't think there will be very many. The work thing is something I had wanted to know too - I know they will probably tell you they don't recommend you work but I can say that most of us work at least part time (the odd one maybe even full-time although I couldn't imagine that), although some don't work at all. Personally I work 2.5 days/week and I find that plenty - and I feel like I'm pretty good at staying on top of things. You definitely need to be self-motivated in this program if its going to work. As for doing it from this far away, it could work, we have one person from the island this year, you just need to be willing to come out for the times that are necessary. And that seems to be changing with each cohort. In our cohort for example, the mental health rotation was moved into semester 2, whereas previously it was in semester 3 with the other clinicals. So in our cohort there are at least 3 chunks of time that you have to be out here for, so its just a matter of if you have family or something that you could potentially stay with for weeks/months at a time when necessary. None of this is from personal experience, as I live nearby, but they do seem to do their best to make it work for those farther away as much as possible.
  2. Hey guys, We're about halfway through semester 2 now, about to start our first clinical in mental health. The program is going good so far, a bit disorganized at times, but you definitely learn a lot and I'm sure once we've done our summer semester (med/surg clinicals) we will really start to feel like nurses! If you have any specific questions ask away and I'll try to respond.
  3. Hey guys! They just added more books to the booklist, just wanted to give you all the heads up :)
  4. Hey, where is transfer credit posted? What do you mean? I've e-mailed them about it but haven't heard back yet because the girl is on vacation...
  5. Hey guys! I just created a facebook group. Its called "KPU Nursing Post-baccalaureate Class of 2018" Feel free to join!
  6. I think I've decided on the ipad air 64gb. Is everyone else registering for courses on Monday? I'm assuming we just register for the courses that are on the program's website?
  7. Just finished my CPR course today, so I should have everything sent in now. Not sure if my criminal record check has gone through yet, but I also sent it a day or two after I found out I was accepted.
  8. Me too! Congrats everyone! :)
  9. Nothing yet, but on Monday my status changed from "under review" to "pending faculty decision" whatever that means...
  10. Yes, I applied on Nov. 1 with all of the pre-requisites, so I am anticipating an acceptance, but I still feel like I can't count on it for sure until that letter is in my hands!
  11. I also applied for the Kwantlen's Post-Bacc 2016 intake. I e-mailed them in mid-April and they said letters would be going out in a few weeks. My status also says "under review" still.
