CRNE February 2012

World Canada CRNE

Published

Hi everyone, Im an Irish nurse preparing for the CRNEs for February 2012 in Toronto. Didnt see any thread for this exam in February, so thought id start one. How is everyone preparing? Im using the CRNE prep guide doing Qs and studying the competencies. Any tips/advice? Happy studying!!

thanks for all the advice.x

I took the one at the Toronto School of Nursing after failing twice and just got the good news I PASSED!!! I also took the one at George Brown College, but its only 2 days. They are very thorough and have a massive test bank that corresponds to the modules covered. I did study like crazy though on my own, cause I didn't want to take any chances. I honestly don't think I could have done it without them. Me and my friend live slightly outside Toronto and would car pool everyday and its right downtown. We both passed. :yeah::yeah::yeah:They also cost 750 whereas the other school I think costs a thousand. Check them out at www.torontoschoolofnursing.com. You have to put the effort into though and attend all the classes, cause theres lots of content. Good luck with your choice. Either way, I'm sure you'll do fine

I just wanted to know if you could give me the information about how you prepared for the exams and which books did you used .please help me out .you help me and God will help you one day when you have problems.

thanks

Aj

I just finished my classes there and it really helped me. I really don't think I would have studied as much as I would have otherwise, because we have assigned readings everyday. Class sizes are small and my instructor provides lots of examples related to the material. I made a lot of friends and I feel way more confident this time to write than before because I know so much more. A bunch of us would meet up after class and study together. I also studied the CNA book and the Mosbys book. I took time off of work for the last two months and really would spend my whole day studying. You really have to put the effort in, do it all or nothing. You have to study and put in the time to be successful, so don't rely on just one thing, especially if you failed twice already. I failed once so decided that I had to do it all or nothing. Start now, and start studying daily. It will help you with your knowledge and your comprehension.

I am a Canadian trained nurse and have done the CRNE prep guide (4th and 5th editions), Mosby's Prep Guide, and the two readiness tests. I'm totally burnt out. I'm freaking out about this exam but I feel as though there's nothing more I can do. I only have 2 more days to prepare. I just want to know if anyone can offer some last minute words or encouragement. If you have previously written the CRNE, is it true the answers are often what is the BEST action of the nurse, or what is the FIRST action? Is it true there aren't many questions that are very specific and only one answer is correct? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thanks, Daniella.

Each exam is different. It depends what the question is asking you. The key to success is to have gleaned enough knowledge throughout your 4 years of study. Read each question carefully, and make sure you manage your time. Remember your ABC's, the nursing process, and the code of ethics when selecting your answers. Good luck :)

I am very anxious now. Only one more day! Goodluck to everyone on Wednesday!

Best of luck to everybody 2mro!!x

Hi guys? How was the exam. Found it easy except some few questions. What do you think?

I thought it was really difficult. It was my first (and hopefully last) time writing it. I am a Canadian trained nurse and everyone from the exam center walked out of there feeling like crap, and thinking they failed...including me. I studied hard, worked hard over the past 4 years, now all I can do is hope for a miracle and hope I made the right judgments when answering the questions.

Well lets hope it goes well............we have 6 weeks to get the result. Too far for me to wait but i have to.

Thank God its over... Most of the question in the exam wants you to analyze combined with your medical knowledge to get the answer.

Now, waiting time kicks me... I did my best and God will take the rest... :)
