Just wanted to start a thread for UCSD's New Program. Feel free to post any updates or news :)

Did anyone apply to the Tele posting?

Did anyone apply to the Tele posting?

I did. but my status never changed. I hear some people applied there too and their status changed to "under consideration" or "referred to hiring managers". I dont know if theyre not interested in me. I dont even know if they even read my application. I did my externship and preceptorship at UCSD and also few of my clinicals were there too.

Sounds like you have a good chance. Have you contacted your manager on the floor you externed or precepted on?

Well.. im still in contact with her.. unfortunately shes unable to open a new grad positions on her floor. This is the 2nd time i applied and im not getting any interviews..

I applied to the Tele position. Mine says referred to Hiring Department as of the 30th. But then again I have an IMU position with the same status from the last round of new grad jobs back in September...

Has anyone here interviewed for the PCU?

Does anyone here live in San Diego? I'm moving there next month and would love advice on the best place to stay. How is Hillcrest? Is there a lot of crime in that area? I have heard great things about La Jolla. What about Chula Vista? Thanks!

Did you get a job at UCSD? If so I work there and live about a mile away, The Regents apartments, and love the place. There's a Starbucks right out the front door on my way to work. UTC Shopping Center is right down the road, loads of restaurants, and about a 10 minute drive to the beach. I have a two bedroom condo which I share with a friend of mine and we pay about 1900 per month. There are also a lot of cheaper places that are still very nice in La Jolla. I think you might want to stay away from Chula Vista.

Thanks, persistencepays, for your response here and your response to my PM. Yeah, I hear La Jolla is the place to be, but I'm worried about the cost of housing. Do you mind sending me a PM about these "cheaper places that are still very nice in La Jolla"? I'd love to live in La Jolla, but I don't want to have to pay an arm and a leg (tho it seems like I just might have to....).

Thanks for the tip on Chula Vista. It's actually my last resort. I have a family friend who is living there, and she has graciously offered me a place to stay. :)

I actually have a place in La Jolla at "La Jolla Crossroads" that i am giving up. I am looking for someone to take my lease. You'll get your own room for 606+ about 30 for utilities. With underground parking and everything. Please let me know if you need anyone. I am looking for someone to move in ASAP. =)

Specializes in Obstetrics.

My friend who applied to L&D just got a call from the nurse recruiter last week via phone. But I still have not heard back at all yet..... anxious! :(
