I'll just reiterate what others have already touched on: typically, your BAC, accidents/collisions that were caused, whether or not children were in the car, and whether or not other drugs and/or parephenelia were involved, are what the California's BRN will consider when determining what course of action to take. You have thirty days following your conviction to disclose it to the BRN. Your best hope is to receive a citation and fine. I'll echo what others have suggested, and that is to hire an attorney who is familiar with California's BRN. He/she will help you disclose your conviction. If you're already licensed, your BAC was relatively low, no accidents, children, or other drugs were involved, and this is your first DUI, chances of you getting just a citation and fine are good. I hope you get your questions answered here. If not, I'd ask your attorney for details on the supervision requirement of probation. I am really hoping your attorney can get you a public reprimand instead of probation. Please keep us updated.

Was there an accident involved with your DUI? I don't want to generalize, but typically, if you're already a licensed RN, and the DUI was your first offense with no accidents involved, no child in the car, low BAC, etc., and you disclose it properly to the BRN within the required 30 days, most likely than not, you'll get a citation and fine from the board, which is not discipline, and it's not attached to your license for the public to see. A cite and fine is the best result one can hope to get in this kind of situation. Did you disclose your DUI conviction to the board within the required 30 days? If you did not, that's grounds for an accusation from the board, as not disclosing a criminal conviction within the specified time frame is a separate violation of the Nursing Practice Act (the DUI is a violation, as well). Or did you receive your accusation after disclosure? If the latter, I'm guessing there was an accident involved? My best advice to you is to consult with an attorney, one who specializes in administrative law, one who is well versed in dealing with California's BRN. I think at this point, the best result you can hope for is a public reprimand from the board. If there was an accident involved, the possibility for probation is greater. I believe you have limited time to respond to the accusation, so please, consult with an attorney ASAP if you haven't already done so. Good luck to you.

Where are people gathering that OP worked the night before his/her class? Yes, he/she works night shift, but I never assumed that he/she worked the night before he/she attended class. I work at a medical center/teaching hospital and I do work nights. I never work the night before I have class. Perhaps the OP had the night off before his/her class. Please, let's not make any assumptions.

What two day course starts on 12/28? Is this for all new grads or is this specific to the floor or unit for which you applied?

You're the first person I know that this happened to (going to CC page and then getting the good pop-up afterwards). I think so long as your status says "Delivery Successful", it's okay to try the trick. I don't think it's necessary to wait until the allotted six hours is up. I finished the exam way before my allotted six hours, and I was still able to do the trick successfully. The same can be said about my friends. :)

I think it's important to do as many practice questions as you can. Also, the day before the exam, get some R&R in and do not to study. Meditate, go take your dog for a stroll, or do whatever it is that will help you relax. Good luck!!!
