BUMP BUMP BUMP

Hi Everyone,

I also applied to Rcc and my friend is currently in her 2nd semester. She got very lucky because her grades were not the best. She did mention that they are now accepting 90 students versus last semester of 60. July is a very long time to wait but i also am waiting to hear back from GWC and Saddleback. I am not sure how competitive I am because I did not do very well on my teas.

Good luck everyone.

Hello there! How many points do you think you have?

I think 80 points and higher is good, even maybe 75. I dont think you should worry.

Which is your top choice?

Well, they always accepted 90 students (80 or close to it), it's just now all 90 students are on the same campus in our new building. Depending on who else is applying you can get in with 75. I had 75 and I do not think anyone else with lower points made it in, though I haven't asked everyone. Good luck!

Hey everyone..since I am basically replying to myself....Anyone ELSE get a TEAS invite?

I did...I guess it is scheduled for mid April. I already took my TEAS, which they should have on file. Anyway, I declined and told them so they can give the spot to someone else. I already have taken it twice but is receiving the invite a good sign? Unfortunately I feel an alternate letter or rejection letter coming from CSULB any day now. I know CSULA and CSUSB are going to reject me. RCC maybe my only chance.

With money being as tight as it is, they only invite the top ____ to take the TEAS. About 2 years ago they would let everyone take it and then they decided I think only the top 100 would be invited or some arbitrary number. I would take it as a good sign as that means you had a good GPA compared to others.

How did you do on the TEAS test? I know for me it was my saving grace to get into the program.

I took it twice. I was aiming to get into CSULA because they take into account my CNA experience for extra points but only look at english and reading on the TEAS. Of course, those are my two weaknesses. I got 82% the first time and an 84% the second time. I was aiming for the 90s. But at $65 a pop, I couldn't afford to take it more times. I am not a very good standarized test taker, and hate that programs use that as a means to get into the program.

My science GPA is all As and the only thing wrong with my app, aside from the TEAS was the overall GPA. It sucks, like barely a 3.0 sucks. Luckily RCC looks at a set amount of courses versus the whole overall. But even with those 9 or so courses (speech, soc, crit thinking etc....) its still like a 3.15.

What were your stats that go you in?

I had 75 points and was selected as an alternate. There were others that made it in free and clear with 75 points.

oh nice..so that means my 85 points should be good enough!

whooooooo i just wish they would tell us already!
