LAC+USC interview new grad RN

U.S.A. California

Published

Hey guys, I have a question. I had an interview with LAC+USC and received a letter that I passed the oral exam. I read in the letter that they are going to contact me if positions open up. I am a new grad RN. Have you been in my situation? How long does it take until they call you? Do we have another interview after the oral interview or this is it? Please share your experience with me..thank you

Congratulations volunteerpioneer!

I have been following your posts for a while and it's keeping me optimistic for things to come!!!!

I wonder how kristy w.'s 1st day went too!

I received my health clearance mid-August. I'm suppose to be in CT-ICU. But I have a friend who finished clearance around the same time but for another ICU, forgot which ICU, anyway she has not gotten a start date yet so I think they're calling by unit...

Who called you? HR or nurse recruitment?

Congratulations volunteerpioneer and Kristy.w for sharing and on your hire dates. It helps us all see what's at the end of the tunnel of jobs. Following this thread daily is helping us all answer our questions.:yeah: I have question tho... Is the hire date based on when to report to HR or date to start on your respective units. :uhoh3: Thanks.

Hey guys! How is everyone doing? To the people that started already, did they put you on NOCs or did you have to work both day/night shift? I'm just asking cuz when I spoke to the nurse recruiter before I remember her saying that you have to be available for both shifts... So sometimes you might work days and sometimes you might work NOCs depending on the need.

congrats on start days!! the training is a lot of video's, there are some tests (so far nothing hard though) the instructors are all great, I can't wait to get started on the floor now, although i'm so nervous being a new grad!

^ awesome kristy!!! Good luck on your new adventure!

Yes, the date they give me is when I report to HR. The recruiter said that whole day is set up to finalize all the paperwork with HR and Nurse Recruitment and that we would receive our schedule that day as well. She said we would be able to "visit" our unit for a little bit that day as well.

Kristy.W. Congrats, I'm VERY nervous to start as I graduated 1.5 years ago and have not taken "refresher" courses :( Can I ask if there was a big group of you in the classes, and if they were all new grads? I'm hoping there are others like me... hopefully :)

OMG.... your not alone volunteerpioneer. I am on the shoes as you are since I graduated and with no refresher courses as well... I am nervous too. :chair: aaaah. Right now I rely just on the web trying to get info and expectations of new grads in icu.

Hey everyone! I'm still waiting for my background check to clear. It's been 3 weeks as of yesterday... Hope everything is ok =\

Hi everyone! How was the unit interview? Do they ask a lot of situational questions? I have an interview on monday! and I don't know what to expect.

Wow! Congrats! Every interviewer I had asked different questions, but I encountered about 5 situational questions each time. Google nursing interview questions and practice those. Good luck and which unit are you interviewing for?
