CSU Long Beach School of Nursing (Fall 2010)

U.S.A. California

Published

This thread is for those who are aspiring a seat in CSU Long Beach's School of Nursing for Fall 2010.

We all know the current impaction of the program. We are all familiar with the challenging process.

We understand the competition between all the applicants. You are not alone!

I submitted my application yesterday and I must tell you the relief I suddenly had.

I have worked hard the past two years of my life and there is nothing else I can do but pray and hope. =]

Has anyone else turned in their application?

Oh, then I will try again!

So do I just call the School of Nursing, ask for the BSN coordinator and ask him or her to verify my receipt? I guess I will call again tomorrow. Maybe third time's a charm!

Is the 605 always traffic? I wouldn't suggest side-streets because that would take forever!

You can try the 710 but that would just bring you to the other side of the city! Hmm, I think Cerritos is a good residential area between the two cities.

I actually didn't ask for the BSN admission coordinator when I called. I called school of nursing & a male answered the phone. He wasn't able to answer my question so he asked if I wanted to speak with the BSN admission coordinator. I knew then that I was about to speak with the BSN admission coordinator because I received an e-mail before with her name & title stated. I guess it's reassuring to know that she has all my materials, especially since I didn't use certified mail. Good luck in calling. Let us know if you find out .. when will acceptance be mailed.

Wanted to comment about 605 traffic. My boyfriend lives in Montebello, goes to CSU Long Beach (business major though!) and commutes using the 605 every day. I live in Torrance and occasionally use the 605 to get to that area. He usually leaves around 7am and it takes him about 20-25 minutes during that time to get to campus for an 8am class.

From both his and my experience, starting at 2pm-ish and maybe ending around 6 or 7 there is ALWAYS traffic (like, super slow traffic) where the 5 meets the 605 but once you get past that hot spot, it's almost always good. It's on both directions too, north and south. I can't remember if he's ever mentioned that traffic popping up when he's going TO school, but seeing as it doesn't take him long to get to school, it's probably minimal.

I would guess that since you're from West Co, add about 10 minutes to that commute. With the exception of the stupid 5 traffic, it's a decent commute =)

Dear Applicant,

Congratulations. CSULB’s School of Nursing Admissions Committee has reviewed your application, transcripts and test score, and you have been chosen to move to the second stage of the admission process.

The second stage of the admission process consists of a _mandatory interview_ with the School of Nursing’s faculty. The interview process includes a short writing assignment, a one on one activity and a small group interview. The interview process should take about an hour. The dress code is business casual. The only item you need to bring is a pen or pencil.

The interviews are being held Monday, March 8 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm, Tuesday, March 09, 2010 between 9:00 am and 1:00 pm, and Wednesday, March 10, 2010 between 9:00 am and 4:00 pm.

To arrange for your interview, please contact me by Friday, March 5^th at 562-985-2201 between the hours of 10:00 am and 5:00 pm. If my phone goes to voice mail, *_do not leave a voice message_*. Hang up and try and call me again a little later. If you leave a voice message, I will not return your call.

Again, congratulations on moving to the second stage of the admission process.
