U.S.A. California

Published

This thread is for those who are aspiring a seat in CSU Long Beach's School of Nursing for Fall 2010.

We all know the current impaction of the program. We are all familiar with the challenging process.

We understand the competition between all the applicants. You are not alone!

I submitted my application yesterday and I must tell you the relief I suddenly had.

I have worked hard the past two years of my life and there is nothing else I can do but pray and hope. =]

Has anyone else turned in their application?

Yes, with all the budget cuts going on, I will be very grateful for a seat in any Nursing program that is around my area. I hope when you guys get contacted for your CSULB Nursing interview, please share ASAP! I will be jumping for joy and celebrating when I get that call. LOL. And to think, that isn't even a guarantee you'll be in the program! Do you guys know how many will be called for interviews?

from reading previous posts i looks like they'll be interviewing about 120 and accepting 90. Im not sure if its still like that but i hope not cause that means they wont be accepting 25% of all interviewees and thats too muuuch!!

Do yourselves all a favor and get your Patho & Pharm classes over with before you go into the nursing program, or take them somewhere else Trust me, it'll make your first semester a whole lot easier.

yea, I'm actually taking pathophysiology at Golden West College So far she's pretty good and I've heard nothing but good things about her.

OH TORTUOUS WAIT! WHEN WILL YOU END?

When will that call, letter or email come and save me from you?!

lol i feel your pain matthew, we should be finding out real soon tho, my 23rd birthday is on march 12th so i hope to hear some good news before then so i can get completely obliterated without feeling bad hahaha

I don't think El Camino offers Pharmacology and Pathophysiology for lower division students. Is it only offered in Golden West? I spoke to a counselor today and they told me Bio 304, Bio 305 and Nutrition 339 (CSULB courses) can only be taken by Nursing majors at El Camino College. I'm going to speak to another counselor next week to confirm. If not, I guess I will be attending Golden West this Summer. That's CSU San Bernardino, Long Beach City, El Camino College and Golden West on my list of schools that I have attended/will attend to go to CSU Long Beach. GREAT! haha.

A FEW MORE DAYS YOU GUYS!!!

Any word yet you guys?

Nothing here. Not even from the University.

The frustration from this waiting is taking months off my life.. HAHA.

I haven't heard anything from CSULB university & school of nursing as well. I also applied @ CSU San Bernardino & it's the same situation.

I also applied at CSU East Bay & San Jose State University in NorCal. I received my conditional acceptance from both universities but still waiting to hear from respective school of nursing.

I have to say based on my experience, CSU East Bay is the most applicant-friendly university out of these 4 schools. CSUSB is the worst .

I haven't heard anything either...I'm going crazy over here! I literally keep dreaming about it too! GAH

I attended CSUSB for a quarter right after I graduated from high school. =D

Nice campus, bad location. HAHA. I miss the school though.

I've been dreaming about it too!!! HAHA.

Man, I've been so cranky the past few days.

Can anyone try calling or emailing the School of Nursing?

I've emailed them but no response as of yet. I tried calling but no body is picking up.

It's like they're hiding from the applicants! =P

matthewandrew, you should've asked 3 days ago. If what you say is true, then I should consider myself lucky. I called CSULB school of nursing this past Friday & actually spoke with the BSN admission coordinator. I called for a different reason but was able to verify the receipt of my BSN application, official transcripts, & TEAS score with her. I think you're correct in that they do not respond to e-mails. I e-mailed 2 days before making the call and received no reply. BTW, if you want to check the status of your university application (just for fun perhaps?), try calling (562) 985-2500 & use your campus ID number.

On a different note..anyone know what the commute traffic would be like on I-605 from West Covina? Any suggestions for a good residential area in-between West Covina & Long Beach?
