Is Banner Health hiring ADN new grads?

U.S.A. Arizona

So I heard though the grapevine that Banner is no longer hiring ADN new grads. I wanted to see if my fellow peeps out there heard anything. I wanted to get a PCT jobs with Banner in hopes of getting hired on once I've completed my RN. But if Banner is no longer hiring ADN new grads then that will change my course of action.

Thanks

No, that is not true. I'm sure they prefer BSN prepared nurses, but they do still consider ADN nurses.

Hello! I actually looked into it at Banner and that is correct. The HR dept said they are no longer hiring ADN only BSN.

Thank you for the responses. Has anyone been hired as a new grad ADN while attending an RN-BSN program? I would think Banner would at least consider a new grad in a BSN program but maybe not.

Is this universal, or only applying to new grads?

Hi- I went to a Banner job fair in March. The recruiter told me when I get closer to completing my BSN to start applying. I guess if you are a program they are willing to look. Good Luck!

Hello! They will hire new grads from a BSN program. Good luck to you all :)...

Husband works for banner and hiring. No more ADN's. :(

Specializes in Pediatric, ED.

Several of my classmates and I have received calls for interview at Banner after we graduated in May with BSN. I know of one candidate with ADN who interviewed with Banner but mentioned he never received a call back from HR. We started applying after we graduated but more aggressively after we passed Nclex. So far 3 offers out of 3 interviews in my group. I declined and accepted an offer elsewhere.

I work for Banner as a nurse's aide but I just completed LPN school and am waiting to take the NCLEX-PN. I plan on getting into a LPN to BSN program. My managers have in the past asked me if I plan on getting my BSN and I've told them yes. They never came right out and said that they wouldn't consider ADNs but the way they make it sound, they really aren't going to seriously be considering you for a nursing job unless you are a BSN, even if you already work for Banner like I do.

I have been working with ADN nurses here and have all been hired at Banner. I am thinking it depends on who you know. I do have BSN and done with MSN. Cannot secure an interview with any Hospital in the Valley. I am now working in a SNF. There, very few people know I have achieved that. It is hard to go further in LTC. I now only mention BSN and have applied to everything so far. So, if you know someone in the valley hospital, you are lucky.

Thanks for all the responses. This helps to change the game plan for Arizona for sure and points me in the direction of other markets to apply after i graduate. I feel that ADN programs should be converted to BSN programs if a major employer for the valley is not willing to hire ADN's. I guess I'll be looking for jobs in New Mexico and Texas. Has anyone heard if its easier in those markets?
