Any changes in the market (exp. nurse)- Phx area

U.S.A. Arizona

I am CONSIDERING a move to Chandler, AZ or Calif. in the summer of 2010, but scorpion stories  along with black widow spiders are REALLY FRIGHTENING me concerning AZ, LOL!!! I will have had a little over a year experience as a LPN. I will be a newly graduated RN when I make the move. I am willing to take any opportunity for employment while awaiting improvements in the market. Is it still challenging to find work as a year experienced nurse in ALL specialties, including LTC/SNFs? TIA!!Do you guys REALLY deal with scorpions constantly or does it just depend on where you live...I can TOLERATE/SPRAY the spiders, but SCORPIONS :eek::eek::eek::eek:

Specializes in NICU, PICU, Peds, Pediatraic Home Care, Infusion.

The job market in Az is a nightmare. I've been here over twelve years and never have I seen such a dark time.

The home I've lived in over twelve years has never had a visit from a scorpion. It really depends on the area.

But to live in this beautiful state I would not worry about scorpions.

The job market, however, is something else.

I want to move back to Arizona I miss it so much any suggestions ladies? Im a new grad RN with over 5 years of LPN experience. I'll take anything at this point. I had a call from Trillium a few days ago, she sounded interested and told me that she would call me the next day for a telephone interview, but never called? Im seriously thinking of calling her back come Monday. I want to be there even if I have to work way out.

Specializes in VA-BC, CRNI.

Call her.

I know for a fact they just lost a RN.

If you don't mind LTC/Rehab the Citadel, Plaza, Mesa Good Shepherd are all currently hiring.

I stepped on both tranchulas and scorpions barefooted. Both times in Sedona. Since I've been in Tucson I haven't seen any. The job market is all right in Tucson. Try UMC. We just opened up another brand new tower, so there will be more job openings. My floor hired like 10 new grads I believe several months ago.
