@nursemich: I agree, NZ is the cheaper way to go to aus. I'd also like to go to aus once I'm stable in NZ. that's why I'd been trying to pursue going to NZ. However, I can't really do anything for now, since I have no money for the application fee. Well, goodluck on you and hope to see you soon there...

Hi.It took my application for elligibility in NCNZ about 7 months coz I was denied at first due to lack of papers.thn I waited for almost a year to start my CAP at UCOL.It really depends though coz during the time that I applied to the schools providing CAP, almost all CAP providers were already close until 2012.the most hard part is looking for a CAP schools coz nowadays as I have heard some of the schools have their own requirements..

    Evidence of nursing practice hours

The Council requires evidence of 450 hours of nursing practice hours as a registered
nurse within the last three years. This can be a letter from your employer, on letterhead
paper, signed, dated and include the authors contact details. Alternatively, we can
accept certified copies of payslips (must be 450 hours' worth).

    - I guess 450 hours is about 1.8 months right? I just sent my application to NZ just 2 days ago. Hopefully all goes well. FINGERS CROSSED. The only concern I have (and I think most have this concern), is the amount of nursing experience one has. Do the CAP schools require a specific amount of experience? Because accdg to the NZNC Guide, they only require 450 hours of nursing practice? and does 450 hours mean the same as 2 months of nursing employment?

Please shed light on this matter fellow nurses. Responses will be very much appreciated.
