Crocs, if you're allowed open heeled footwear. They last forever. I even run in mine on the treadmill to decrease the impact on my joints.

I have Asics and i am in need of new shoes. I have pretty bad back pain all day at work that affects my job. all tips welcome!

When I was a flight attendant, everyone wore Danskos for inflight shoes. They are ugly, but super comfortable. We were not allowed to wear them around the airport. Lol. I believe they are around $100 - $125.

I wear Black Patent Leather Danskos--but only when working in the hospital as the minute I try walking with them on sidewalks I'm prone to tripping sideways if I hit a crack just right. They are stiff clogs and clumsy to break into at at first but once you get used to them you won't want anything else for those long 12's. They are easy to clean with the alcohol wipes I always have in my pockets. Easy to slip in and out of for that rare moment I can put my feet up in the break room. I've had the same pair for three years and they really hold up the the standing and walking and kicking gurney's around.

Something that is comfortable and easy to wear. Tried wearing Crocs these days and it works.

Alegria's!! LOVE the footbeds in them - very comfy

Expensive shoes are still cheaper than knee replacement surgery.

I like Alegria, and I prefer the paloma style because I don't like the open back on the classic style. But they are both very comfortable.

In 32 years of Nursing, most of them ER...."FitFlop" I found a pair at Marshall's and now I can't wear anything else. I like Alegria's too, Croc's and Dansko's. My Dansko (cordovan color) squeak though....Loudly squeak. I just ordered a new pair of FitFlop's, less expensive online then at Nordstoms.....

^Agree.

Love the Danskos...I've even ventured on getting sandals and their other shoe line because they are therapy for correcting your feet...and are cheaper than getting joint replacements, lol.

The tripping sideways thing, I always attributed to how I walked pre-Danskos...I think I tripped of side tripped for two weeks, then my feet and ankles got their act together...I can switch from sneaks, flats, etc into Danskos with no issues...

Danskos hands-down. They are ugly but I have zero joint pain. They are about all I wear besides my running shoes (which I only wear, oddly enough, when running). I even have sandals. As far as the cost goes, I have one pair I bough 7 years ago. They look beat to heck, but the soles don't break down.

Definitely love my Danskos! I only wear them at work though because I'm too clumsy to trust to wear them where the ground is uneven. I've gotten pretty good at walking in them though. I use to have horrible back aches only four hours in to my shift, but I'm great now with my Danskos. They've just recently started squeaking though. They're pricey, but I got mine while they were on sale at Christmas.
