Z-Coil Shoes

Hi everyone. I'm considering these shoes since I get pain on my feet, legs and lower back. Dansko shoes was alright but now, they really hurt. I've read some info regarding these Z-Coil shoes and I'm pretty interested and also I talked with another nurse, who likes them.

I want to know what style is preferable on the floor (since standing and walking all shift) --like freedom 2000, Z-walker, OR taos clog?

I have wide feet too, so is it okay with the Z-Coil?

Are they also safe in the hospital to wear for work?

Are they similar to Nike shockz? My daughter decided I need a pair and I do love them. These have covered coils.

I used to love my Danskos but I kept getting tendonitis because there wasn't enough support on top and sides.

Supposedly, Nike Shox absorb 5 to 10% of the impact, whereas Z-Coils absorb 50% of the impact. I have both, and I swear by my Z-Coils.

Only problem with them is that you have to explain them all the time. 10 year old boys love them, however, thinking that you will be a great basketball player by wearing them (wrong).

Thanks. I'll consider the zcoils if I even find myself working 12 hour shifts again.

They were worth every penny. I forget the style name, but I got the leather sneakers. They're comfy, stable, and easy to clean.

How much do these shoes cost? I went on th website but of course not prices. They look dangerous- I have a bad habit of twising my ankles all the time espcially in high heels. Would these cause me problems? I like my Rockers alot but I am always up for something better.:D

They look funny but trust me, you can go running in them ... I do anyway :)

They aren't all that "different" from regular shoes - they just have a different design. Once you're used to them, you won't even think about 'em...

I paid 200 for my pair and as PeachPie said - they're worth every shinny penny! I know I'm going to be standing for hours on my feet - so I think of these as "investments". Less abuse means now means my feet last longer later on ;)

Z-coil have new models with the coil enclosed.

I was diagnosed recently with plantar fascitis, heel spurs, and falling arches. The podiatrist recommended buying a pair of Z-coil shoes (along with my expensive hi-tech arch supports... lol).

My 12 hour shifts in the ER go by so quickly now. What a change from coming home and having to take a pain pill just to go to sleep!

I bought the 'Freedom 2000' sneaker. It was the best decision ever.

Yes. The shoes are expensive. But I haven't read any comments about the durability and replacement parts over the life of the shoe. The shoes are designed to have replacement parts so you don't have to buy a new pair every 3-6-12 months. The spring and the heel pad have an average 4-6 month life span (depending on usage). The spring and heel pad can be replaced for a $40 charge. Over the life of the shoe the money spent is not that much more than buying new shoes every 3-4 months. I don't know about you but I easily spend $40 every 3 months on shoes.

I love my pair and plan to buy more for around the house.
