Does it depend how bad the patient is injured?
It depends on how badly the patient is injured, and it also depends on the specific body part(s) that have sustained injury.

The question is a bit unclear. You are allowed to be concerned with any Pt, what are you being held back from doing?

Big concerns would be injuries to the hands, face, and legs. These tend to affect many ADLs.

Injuries serious enough to land you in hospital can affect your patients' ADLs.

Think about this. Would someone with a head injury have the same degree of impairment as someone with a broken arm? Would someone who broke his non-dominant arm have the same degree of limitations as someone who broke his dominant arm or dislocated his shoulder of the dominant arm?

Let's say this is for a homework assignment and you need to use your own imagination and what you know about ADLs more. :) What do you think, and why?

why would anyone be that concerned about what the nurse thinks? If this is related to employment or insurance benefits HR and an MD would be responsible for making comments, not the nurse. I feel you are not telling us something important to the situation.

When assessing someone's ability to perform their ADLs, remember that you are really assessing whether the patient can perform them safely. If a patient performs them but is vulnerable to slips, falls, and repeated injury, then they can't really perform them, can they? Good luck with your assignment.

moved to nursing student assistance for best response.

Not having gotten the answers for the assignment in a neat package, I think the OP has left the building. :)

Good. I just read what I posted, and it needs editing.
