I'm pretty sure he was joking. It was not funny. I gave him the death stare and told him I would be happy to leave the building for a day and see how he handles everything I have to deal with. He said "No problem, I can manage your job without breaking a sweat."
Sure. He would probably crap himself at the first good laceration, or power puke.

I was out for a 3 day stretch last year for sex education PD and I could get a sub one out of the three days. First day was no sub, second day was sub.
On the second day, sub told me she could actually work the third day. I emailed my principal as such and principal was so happy. She told me that I was awesome and she had no idea what I dealt with.
I bet your AP would call uncle after about 30 minutes of FFs :).

I'm here for now.
The HH and SN stuff is doing better than I thought it was. I do still miss the hospital, but a Crusty-ish Old Bat like me is liking not having my back sore.
And then there's all of you.

My AP referred to "all that nurse stuff" as "nonsense" yesterday.I'm pretty sure he was joking. It was not funny. I gave him the death stare and told him I would be happy to leave the building for a day and see how he handles everything I have to deal with. He said "No problem, I can manage your job without breaking a sweat."I left the room. Haven't spoken to him since. Summer WHERE YA AT?!?

Ug. This is enraging. I had a teacher say something similar once and I walked away, speechless (as you may be able to imagine, I'm not speechless very often)
*hugs*

Oh my...whenever anyone talks about how easy my job must be I immediately quiz them. It goes something like this:
Oh, you could be a school nurse, huh? So you just got a call that there's a compound fracture on the far playground. What's your first move? What supplies will you take with you when you head out to the student?
I have more fun quiz questions to follow but no one ever makes it past my compound fracture quiz. Whaddya know-us school nurses might actually have some useful stuff swirling around up in this space between our ears!
School's out!
See you on the Dark Side of the Moon...
