We had to buy two uniforms for school. We had a choice of a dress or a pant suit. The pant suit had a longish top. We had a girl show up to clinicals wearing only the pant suit top. Because she had her lab coat on and buttoned up, she thought she had on her dress!!!

You know you're in nursing school when a Saturday night with your significant other consists of practicing assessment skills :)

How about before you even start NS and have only done your Pre Reqs and taking Pathophysilogy and Nutrition. I don't start NS until August but I have had many friends asking me for advice. Just last week I had a friend ask me what the signs of a Heart Attack were because she thought she might be having one. I am like "I am not a Dr. and I don't even play one on tv" :p Ok I didn't say that but I had to laugh that I am already being asked for advice. LOL

Specializes in CNA - nursing home setting.

Omg, that is happening to me to. I am taking a&p and nutrition and have not even started the ns classes yet, and people are asking me what to do for their sick kids and stuff. I also had to change the bandages on my father in laws second degree burns, since I was gonna be a nurse anyway (that I didn't mind doing, it was really cool and I enjoyed doing it). Hahah, I just wonder what it will be like when I actually do become a nurse!

I used to work at a dry cleaners while in nursing school. When I would mention a customer to one of the other employees. Instead of me referring to him or her as the customer, I would always say "this Patient"

You are so tired that you take a shower, shampoo your hair, and stand and stare at the shampoo bottle 5 minutes later wondering if you really did wash your hair, so you do it again.

I carry those things with me all the time. I make my kids quiz me. My daughter even comments on what is and isn't correct on medical shows now...LOL.
