I got admitted into the program this morning.

Congrats on getting in!!

FAQ for Clinical Preparedness Permit

1. What is the deadline to have my CPP stamped?

The deadline for Collaborative Program Students is the last Thursday in August; for Second Entry Students the last Thursday in September.

This is from last year.

My program change request is still pending so I haven't received any info yet but if you google York CLINICAL PREPAREDNESS PERMIT, the PDF link (it was the second for me) will give you a pretty good idea of what you'll have to prepare.

Congrats on getting in!!

Thanks xibb!!

This wait for internal applicants is cruuuuuuuelll :sniff:

I called the department today and was told that they are looking at internal applicants now and that acceptances will start as early as next week and that we could wait for as late as last week of May.

So since all we could do is wait at this point why dont we (internal applicants) compare our averages! Now that I've received all my marks I'm sitting at 7.8 on a 9 point scale in my last 30 credits so about a B+ close to A. My cumulative GPA is at 7.37 on a 9 point scale so that's also a B+.

Considering your marks are higher than where they're at for external applicants (seems like they're accepting those around 6.5 right now) it's highly likely you'll get in. I wouldn't even worry.

I have an 8.0 overall and an 8.3 in my last 30 credits. I'm just super impatient. :bag:

That's awesome I really hope we have a chance at this! It's just scary because only about 20 internal applicants get accepted so it makes you think how many people there are just like us :o

That number does sound scary but I figure the program's been around long enough that they can predict about 20 internals on average will meet the criteria at the same level as the externals. I see no reason why they would reject internals with higher GPAs than the cut-off for externals, provided all pre-requisites are completed. So I think you and I will be fine! :)

You know what, now that you put it that way I think you're right. If we have high averages then there is no reason that we should be rejected considering some people have lower averages than us in the external applicant pool. I completed all my prerequisites this winter term and keep checking to make sure that I have them all but during my advising appointment with the nursing program assistant I made sure to go over everything to make sure I wasn't missing and everything was fine so fingers crossed!

We should start hearing back next week hopefully!

Thanks for calling the department and posting their reply! Now I don't have to check again till Monday. :p

And LOL, I keep checking my transcript and making sure none of my pre-reqs magically disappeared. I've probably re-checked that I took the right ones like 20 times. I wonder if our enrolment access times will remain the same? I'm making a point of posting the answers to all my questions here so next year's applicants don't have to be as clueless as I am.

Yes that's a great idea because we see a lot if external applicant stories but I havent found much about internal applicant experiences

So how has everyone been? Its been such a long time. One of my profs got sick and had to report the grades late, but now that I have my grades I can tell you guys what I got. So in my last 30 I have an 8.2 on the 9.0 scale, and a 7.33 overall.

Everything has been fairly quiet. I think everyone is just holding their breath and waiting for a decision to be made. We're officially into the third week of May which is when they said they would begin to send out acceptances to the internal applicants. Now the worry really sets in!
