She has filed a medical malpractice suit against the hospital.
She contracted a flesh-eating bacteria after giving birth to her child, and they told her they had to amputate all 4 limbs if she wanted to live....THEN wouldn't give her any additional information about why it happened.
I hope she cleans up!

This is old news here in Florida. But so horribly tragic. I can't imagine her misery. She does have a beautiful child and supportive husband.

I noticed in the article that not only is she suing the hospital but also 2 docs and 3 nurses. What could the nurses have done to get themselves into this mess. It's very sad all the way around.

What I find most interesting is that the hospital basically told her to sue.
They must be pretty secure in their handling of her case.
Tragic, whether malpractice or not.

What I think the issue regarding the suit is: the hospital cannot release information due to idiotic HIPAA laws, so she has to sue in order the force the hospital to legally release the information.
I don't think this has to do with the hospital being secure in handling her case. They simply cannot release the information unless they are sued.

HIPPA would not apply, she is wanting her own records.
