Hello,
I don't think there is a thread for Yale GEPN applicants for Fall 2025 start, so here it is! Let's share knowledge and cheer each other on⭐! Also, if there is an existing thread, please let me know.
I want to submit my application soon, but I keep re-reading and editing my essays... Anyone else doing the same thing? I have been out of school for almost 10 years, and I'm getting flashbacks to high school/undergrad days!
Additionally, has anyone sent a transcript via Parchment? My transcript should have been received by Oct 21, but on NursingCAS, it says it hasn't received.
Thanks, and I look forward to communicating with you all!
Does anyone know when in January we'll hear about the community scholars program? That's really all I'm waiting for to commit. Early, mid or late January?
also, to those who were accepted, what are your living options if you attend this upcoming fall? I'm curious what everyone's plans are
Hi everyone,
I got into the program for the fall but did not get the community scholars scholarship. I don't have a support system and I am terrified if I should take out a loan to go to the program. I would appreciate any aid resources or information on loans. I am attending the aid talk today at 3 pm EST. Thank you.

It already came out today.

I talked to admissions and was told that the review of the Community Scholars application is separate from admissions to the GEPN program. They told me that for reference last year students were notified about it late January.
That's what they said to me via email and I got the news today

No you don't have to commit. Deadline has passed though.

Hi just wondering how you heard back from the community scholars scholarship. Did you get an email or phone call?

Hi! I also didn't get picked for the scholarship. A little bummed out but I'm also in the same boat as you, worried about taking out an obscene amount of loans. Now I really do need to wait to hear back from the other schools and see what type of financial aid packages they give me.
how was the financial aid info session?! I unfortunately could not make it because of work but can you possibly share any valuable info?
They sent out a slide deck to us and mostly went over that, it is rough! I went to a session with a current student and they said that the pass rate for the NCLEX is very high I am just still on the fence a bit. I got into a school in SF that is half the cost but without the specialty I want and I appreciate that the YSN GEPN program is 3 years total including specialty. I guess I just need to learn more about how loans work.

Is it possible to share that slide deck? Was it mostly about what type of loans we qualify for, etc?

Let me know if you got access! Yes mostly about the loan options and going to the open house on Feb 7th. I am based in Cali so doubtful ( maybe) I will go but if you are closer it sounded cool.

Does anyone know if we have to commit to qualify for the community scholars scholarship.
