I've never posted here before but I am going to be applying to Yale School of Nursing this fall for a 2015 start in the GEPN program, CNM/WHNP cohort. Wondering if there are others out there preparing to do the same? I'm heading down to their info session next week.
Do you know anything about the program? I got into their PMHNP specialty, but I don't know much about it, and I live in Indiana, so their open house is really short notice for me. They gave me a really generous merit offer, though, so I'm honestly considering it. There seem to be a lot of Boston people here...thoughts?
Nope, I don't know much about it. I just heard that the hospital is a good one. I can't go to the open house because I'm from California and that is way too short notice.

MGHIHP isn't technically part of MGH anymore. If you want to live in Boston or the general New England area, MGHIHP is fine. You do not necessarily have a hookup with MGH - if you've already worked for a Partners hospital (and left on good terms) you stand a better chance of being hired by another Partners hospital. It sounds like their preceptors are pretty scattered so you're not guaranteed a site within Partners Healthcare. Local hospitals definitely hire MGHIHP grads. I'm not sure how grads fare outside of New England.
This pretty much sums up how I'm feeling
