Hi All,
I have been on the lookout for the 2020 thread but figured that I'll have to create one. I am sorry if there is one that I am not aware of.
I am a 2020 hopeful that is looking to make a career switch. I was at one of the information sessions where I gained further insights on the application process and the program. I took the GRE yesterday and was around the 50th percentile for both Q&V.
One of the changes to this years' requirements is that you don't need the GRE if you already have a masters degree or would complete one before the start of the 2020 session. I haven't taken the major prerequisites, but I will take and complete them in the summer of 2020.
I will start talking to my recommenders from next week, I have a tentative list that I composed with a view of having them tell different stories about my candidacy.
May I crave the indulgence of both current and past GEPNs and the benevolence of prospective class of 2020 to make this thread the best one yet. Your views and insights are welcome and appreciated!
I have not heard anything back yet. I am going to try to call sometime tomorrow morning to see if they have an idea of when those decisions will be going out because sounds like early to mid december from previous years bu I am curious if they have adjusted the time frame based on this years applications. Also I want to ask about how much in advance they would let us know of our scheduled interview so I can plan my work schedule accordingly if lucky enough to receive one. If anyone knows the answer to these let me know! Thanks
Hi everyone, long time reader here. I actually received an email last night from Jana saying my application was incomplete - talk about panic! Anyway, my resume had a hiccup and she straightened it out for me and I moved from the incomplete file to the complete one and its ready for review. She also provided me with some very useful timeframe info. So here goes...
She said they plan to notify most, if not all applicants of their interview (or lack thereof) by December 12th.
She then said they plan to set-up online interviews for the week of January 6th.
She also mentioned that due to the extension for the supplementals and the volume of applicants they may have to move things a bit.
I hope this helps and good luck to everyone.
@KCCOA1328 Thank you so much for that information! It is definitely helpful having more solidified dates to go off of.
Agreed! @KCCOA1328 thanks so much! And that makes a lot of sense with the extension that it'll take at least that long to deliberate
Hi everyone,
First time poster here but I have been watching this thread for a while now. There seems to be some conflicting information about interview dates. I spoke with the admissions department after confirming my application was being reviewed and was informed that invites for interviews would be extended the third week of November, and interviews taking place the first week of December. Now, obviously multiple people have been told multiple dates so take that information with a grain of salt.
I'm applying for the Pediatric Nurse Practitioner specialty, would love to hear if anyone else is also pursuing this specialty.
Good luck everyone!
Hey gang, so I emailed Ms. Buck this morning just for a status update. She stated due to the due date extension to the 15th they will be doing interviews starting January 6th. She also said they should be sending out a communication before Christmas.
So I guess we are still in the wait and see category. This anticipation is the worse part.
Although you still have to submit your application by Nov 1st. However the extended deadline allowed for Letter of Recommendation and transcripts to be submitted by Nov 15th instead of the initial Nov 1st deadline for everything. And it was for everyone. So which probably push the admission review back by two extra weeks.
