Hi! Just wanted to create a forum for the students who just finished their apps and HESI exam for Xavier College School of Nursing for their newish ADN program so there's a place to talk and gather! I applied for their entry program (so not LVN bridge) and finished taking the HESI exam (scored really well so happy about that)! I heard there was an interview portion for selected students and I'm prepping all my medical documents right now. Does anyone know the start date for the first semester?

Hey I’d like to know more about this program as well.
I actually got into a couple of other programs but I want to go here for the location convenience and flexibility with their program. It's a certified private nursing program that was originally just LVNs but they recently did LVN->RN and they finally have just straight ADN programs! I made it for this school so I'm just double checking and weighing options before I finalize my decision.
https://www.RN.ca.gov/education/rnprograms.shtml if you want to check the board certification. Their first cohort just graduated I think this fall and I heard the pass rates for the NCLEX was super good. The cohorts are pretty small, I think 15 students?
Private school means higher prices, but they've been super nice about accepting credits from other courses and at least for the GE's they're structured so you take them in succession, so class A for a few weeks, then class B, etc... The second year is all clinicals so I'm obviously much more hyped about that. You can't test out of classes though, and they don't accept AP credit or if they think a class isn't meeting their standards, you really have to fight for some of those courses to be transferred over.
Their website is https://xavier-college.com/ but I've had much much better luck just emailing support staff for any questions or calling.
Also to answer my own question, there wasn't an interview and the start date is in Feb. I visited the campus and it seemed fine.

Hello, I am a LVN and do they have a LVN-RN bridge? I look at their website but there is not much information at all.
Yes, they do have a LVN to RN. Go on their website and open the catalog. All the information is in there.

Hi, I just took my HEIS A2 test. I’m trying to get into their program February 2023. Im very nervous because they have a lot of applicants and they're only taking a small number of student. I score a 90.5% corresponding but I feel that’s not enough to get in.

Isn't their selection based on who applies first? I thought it was more of like first come first serve.
I think the first come first serve was based on the number of applicants they can take. Right now they’re not taking anymore applications.
I'm in the Spring 2022 cohort! I ended up picking this school out of flexibility vs my other options. If the selection is anything like what I went through, they have everyone take the HESI and they look through the pool of applicants to select the top scorers + application best fit. It takes them forever to go through everyone and they send their acceptance letters relatively late compared to other schools. I remember either the website or fb page saying they take first come first serve but it's not like that, at least for the ADN program.
If you get in, definitely try to get the syllabus and course description from your past courses, some courses might not transfer over depending on how they feel about it so fight it! Cohorts are very tiny, 10-12 students, the number changes a little bit depending on factors. You actually get your first clinical in your 2nd semester, fundamentals of nursing.

How are the school hours? I see theory and lab is 3PM - 10PM. Is clinical a choice between 7AM - 3:30PM or 3PM -11:30PM. Im have to work while going to school. So Im trying to figure the hours.
