WSSU 2020 ABSN

Published

Just wanted to see if anyone was applying to WSSU ABSN program? Wanted to see where folks were applying/possibly planning to move from, and what is your general work background?

I'm from Winston Salem, with both a Bachelors and Masters degree in Social Work. I've done some work as a social worker in the mental health, hospital case management setting and also on the insurance side of social work. Good luck to everyone on submitting applications!!!

I called Monday and spoke to someone on the DON ABSN admissions committee regarding my university application, and he said we should know either by Friday of this week or by the end of next week max. ??

I hope it’s by Friday of this week. My refresh button can’t take too much more on my email ?

And every time I see a notification from this group my heart drops?

@Kei2nurse has your cohort heard anything about the incoming cohort at all? Such as when we may possibly find out?

I'm not sure, but we got our acceptance around this time last year Friday afternoon.

Oh wow! A year goes by really fast. Im in such agony. I cant stand it! My nerves are a wreck!!!

Hey guys! Did you all apply to the university via online? If so I received my admission to the university today.

Nothing yet from the actual program. Hopefully only one more week of agony before we find out our fate of the actual ABSN program. Good Luck to you guys! Lots of prayers and fingers tightly crossed. Have a good weekend!

How were you notified of being accepted? When I checked online...mine still says “application complete” ?

I was so confused with the whole application process. I was told that as long as your university application was for Spring 2020 then you’re fine. I applied before 9/1 but was told that was “ok” as well. They said in the past, it would let allow applicants to apply until then but the application portal was open earlier than usual.

@Linaya M did you apply online? If so log on to ramaddmissions and thenthe "status" section states " A decision has been reached on your application"

Right under the drop down arrow for " Submit Offical Transcripts" is a section that states "View Admission Decision" a letter should be there from the admissions director Kerwin Graham (if you don't have one yet) call them or email him the local number is 336--750-2074 for the office of admissions

Yesterday I got an updated letter that shared my residency was confirmed as an in state student and a section that ask me to "respond to offer of admission"

However I haven't selected anything there until I hear from the program

Ok, I’ll reach out to him tomorrow. Thanks!!

@Linaya M No problem, let me know if that helps or if you need anything else.

Hello, I also applied to the 2020 WSSU ABSN program. The suspense of waiting is absolutely killing me.

Ahhh I thought they were releasing decisions today!

I also thought they would be released today! Does anyone know when they will be?

Yes this wait is crazy but I’ve been crossing my fingers for everyone! We are all winners no matter what! Takes a lot to have the prerequisites we all do?
