WSSU 2019 ABSN!!!

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone is planning on applying to the WSSU ABSN for the Spring 2019 cohort? If so, I would love to hear where everyone is from. If accepted, I plan on relocating from Massachusetts. From reading previous years' threads the program is pretty competitive so good luck to everyone!

Honestly we have no idea. We're still trying to decide how they picked who they did since they ask for so little info

Yeah you're right. They asked for little info. And since they picked about 60, I wonder if that's a good or bad thing when it comes to the student-teacher ratio.

Hi there! Do you know who's on the "selection committee" or how it's comprised at all? Is there a vote or anything?

I know the associate dean of nursing is in the panel. Besides that I'm not too sure who the others are. I think there's a few professors that have higher positions in the nursing department but I'm not sure.

At first I was told they would give a confirmation email but when I spoke to the guy in the nursing office he said that they didn't send any out.

I talked to someone today in the nursing office and they said that they heard the decision committee met for the first time today for "longer than normal" and would probably have to "meet a few more times before sending out decisions". Of course this is all through the grapevine... I am hoping to hear by Friday maybe??

I just received my acceptance letter for WSSU 2019. Does anyone know if they offer scholarships and loans?

Was it to the school or to the nursing program? What time did you get the email?

I didn't apply to the school since I was told to wait until I got accepted into the nursing program. I received the email with the acceptance letter document attached at 4:15pm.
