WSSU 2019 ABSN!!!

Published

Hello there,

I was wondering if anyone is planning on applying to the WSSU ABSN for the Spring 2019 cohort? If so, I would love to hear where everyone is from. If accepted, I plan on relocating from Massachusetts. From reading previous years' threads the program is pretty competitive so good luck to everyone!

Oh okay. I didn't get any email

Congratulations!! I just received my acceptance letter as well. I'm so excited to meet everyone :) I was wondering about financial aid too, especially because we don't have long to send in our decision.

I got my acceptance email from the nursing school at 4:12.

I wonder if emails are sent out in alphabetical order?

I haven't received an email regardless saying if I was accepted or denied

I'm not sure how they decide to send the emails but I would keep checking your inbox and spam tomorrow since they sent it a little late in the day.

Is anyone commuting to WSSU? I live 35 mins away and will probably commute.

Hey! I am currently in the program, I commute from Greensboro, about the same distance and it's definitely doable! Congrats to all who have and will be accepted!

I love 30 away and commute. It's not really a big deal. The only thing that sucks is when you have two back to back clinical days or have to pick up a patient and do a care plan the night before clinical. But 35 is definitely doable.

I see you Steph [*insert laugh emoji, eyeball emoji, heart emoji]. It won't let me post real emojis lol.

Are classes usually during the week M-F 8am-5pm with no holiday breaks? I'm guessing clinicals may be anytime and any day?

Typically classes are Tuesday/Wednesday 8-12 or 8-5 depending what you're in. You won't start clinical until around March. Clinical can be on about any day you're nit in class with the exception of Monday's. You're almost always free on Monday.

If I remember correctly Intro and one other class were Tues/Wed/Thur/Fri and the other was Thurs/Fri. Hope that's helpful.
