Hello all,
Let's start this 2020 application cycle thread. Anyone will be applying this Summer?

For those accepted, CONGRATULATIONS! I’m so excited for you!Would you all mind responding and letting me know what your GPA was, along with any other qualifications, if you got accepted or didn’t? It would ease my mind just a smidge as I continue to take my prerequisites and fight for a spot next year!
Good luck next year! My GPA from 10 years ago is 2.92. My prerequisites are new and the GPA for those is 4.0. I took ACT for the first time this Summer and got 34 on English. I think that the good prerequisites and the ACT substituted for a lower GPA.

I was wondering has anybody else heard anything about the acceptance requirements, like the drug screening and background check? It is required by November 6th, isn't it? Where do we go to get these?
I think we just have to sign our acceptance letter and email it back by Nov. 6. As for what we have to do before we start, I believe someone said we’d find that out during orientation or we’ll be receiving more updates I’m assuming? Hope that helps!

Congratulations Kennedi!! I can't wait to meet you!
Thanks! I have a 2.79, I think, from my UNCG bachelor's degree, (I was pregnant with my second during my junior year, and was very sick the whole time I was!). My associate degree GPA was 3.18, at RCCC. I recently had to retake my anatomy/physiology 1 and 2 because they were 8 years old. and I had to take Micro. I made a 97 in Micro, and an A and B in the others, making my GPA at Gaston College a 3.667. I spoke to someone, and they said they would combine all of the GPAs together, if that is true, my combined GPA was 3.21.
All of my prerequisite courses were As and Bs. I think those courses combined have a 3.5 GPA. I've heard some people say that it is a combination of the bachelor's degree GPA and the prereqs, some have said that they mainly look at prereqs.
You don't have to take the TEAS, but it is supposed to be a good gauge of what you already know nursing wise, and how well you'd do in nursing. I made an 82 on my TEAS.
My reading SAT was not the best, but I took mine back in 2006, maybe. wow, 14 years ago! Geez!
Just, try your best, and even if you feel like you won't get in, just try! I was certain I'd get in this year, but had been telling myself that I didn't have a chance for the past several years, and finally just took the risk and applied. The worst they can say is no, right?
Good luck to you!!
