Well, we hand our keys over to the local mechanic all the time. But our house keys are not on the key ring because we have NO house keys. Our house was built in the 1920's and used those old-fashioned keys and they've been lost for years.

how do you guys lock up? ... maybe you live where it is safe enough no to? That is making me nervous just thinking about it and i live in a fairly quiet suburban area...
This is actually a pretty common problem. People get robbed a lot because they leave their keys with valets, mechanics, etc.
That's why there's such a thing as a valet key. Or just make sure you give over only the car key...not even the remote, just the key. Don't leave anything in your car that identifies your address, either. If you're parking somewhere like an airport, people can break in, assume someone's not home and go to hour house.

That is REALLY scary!
:redlight: Because they are building a new parking lot in the hospital in which I volunteer, valet parking is the only thing available. I'm glad I read this. I think I'll be parking in the visitors' lot and just give myself the exersice.
