Would you retake a class because of a B???

I think I may have gotten a B in Algebra. Would any of you out there retake the class if you got a B?

I got a C in Chemistry, so I need to retake that, but I think I'm going to wait and see if I can get accepted with that C LOL if not, then I'll retake it

Not I. I'm only retaking a D from 10 years ago. My school could care less about GPA, as long as you are over 2.5. I'm close to a 3.0.

FYI, most state college will not let you take class more than twice, without paying extra. The subsidized rate from the state only gets to be used twice per student. You take it 3 times, you pay a lot more.

Heres to getting an A or B the second time around.

hey, im in FL too, what school are u appling to?

No, and if you check, many colleges will not allow you to retake a class you got a B in.

I wouldn't either.

If you are thinking of applying for financial aide, try to limit the number of attempted vs actual hours of school.

At my school, the ratio was 75%. So if I only acheived credit at 75% of the hours that I attempted, I would be denied $$. It also could put you in poor academic standing.

Say the class is 4 credit hours. By taking it twice, you won't get 8 credit hours, you will get 4 hours. But you will have attempted 8. This holds true for withdrawls as well.

Be careful.

I think a B will be ok if you make it up in future classes. You should still be proud of a B. Good luck with your other classes.

We are not allowed to retake a class unless we get below a C in it. And then we are only allowed to take one more time and the two grades are averaged together. You should check with the counseling office just to make sure of their policy.

are you kidding me? if i got a b in a class, especially like algebra then no i'm not taking it over. i think its a waste of time really. if i got a b in a class like say microbiology, or a&p, or chemistry then that's different, i may consider taking it over.

i tell you like the nursing students told us at orientation for classes last week: c=rn

I got my grade and I was stunned to see that I got an A in the class!!!!

I guess I was doubting myself for no good reason.

I've seen alot of students retake classes and some got worse grades the second time around. I would keep the "B"!

Great job! That must have been a wonderful surprise! Now go celebrate! :)

I got a B in Stats but an A in all of my sciences and I had no problem getting in. I was HAPPY to get my B in Stats, a girl in my class was retaking it because she got a C and did not get into the program I was applying to (the one I am in now) they told her she would have a better chance if she re-took the Stats. I might re-rake if I got a B in one of my core sciences (like anatomy, physio, micro or chem but not basic bio)
