It is literally going to be last minute because they are still discussing it!
I would ask for no less than your usual hourly, if not more due to short notice and need to move your schedule around to make it work. ?
Anything over breaks/summers that I do extra, I always mention that I'm going out of my way to make the schedule work so an incentive would make me more willing to do it. I never feel bad about it, because even if my schedule during a break is to sit around and eat BON-bons in my backyard, I have to move my BON-BON eating schedule around.
Wow, 5 days notice and no choice? Our district has us apply for Summer school just to see who applies. Nurses who's schools are Summer school automatically get their own schools unless they request another school. It's a separate contract, and they just upped our pay for Summer $10.00 per hour so I am glad I am working.

I work in a district where we (school nurses) are 10 month employees. There has been discussion that they need us to stay for the Summer due to the increase in the need for Summer school due to COVID causing more children to fall behind. First, we only have 5 days left of school and we have not been notified if we are working the Summer yet. Second, how do we get paid for that? Is it a separate contract? Frustrated.
