I had zero support while I was in nursing school, so I HAD to work 60+ hours a week, all the way through. It is very hard, but can be done.

I worked 32 hours per week during nursing school. This consisted of two 16 hour shifts per week every Saturday and Sunday.

I worked full-time for the majority of nursing school. It is difficult, and you will be tired, but it can definitely be done. Hopefully you are good at managing your time

I also worked throughout nursing school. I didn't know anyone that didn't work while in school. It depends on how much you need to study.

I think once I start clinicals I probably will cut down heavily on my work hours. Right now I'm keeping full time at the dr office where I work for the health insurance but when I get married in march I can have my husbands lol
I would prefer not to work at all though in that stage of school.

I'm interested in responses also. I'm working full time (8-5 mon-fri) and am hoping to start my pre reqs next summer or fall. I'm hoping I can still work full time once i'm in a nursing program, any thoughts on how that worked for anyone?

I worked full time my first two semesters. My last two I was just too busy to work that many hours. 3rd semester I worked no more than 30 hours each week, for my final semester, no more than 24 hours. It can get rough, I'm finishing up my practicum right now and 36 hours a week at the hospital plus 22 hours a week at my job has been rough.
ok thank you all so much for your replies, made me lots less woried :) xx
