I went on an interview with a DON at a ltc facility and they DON was crazy she was swearing the whole interview then on the way out she got a cigarrette and started smoking. i found it very unprofessional and 1st impressions mean alot. would you work for her? she also sounded like i could do a better job as DON than her. not a good role model.
I would not work for her. If she's a mess the facility more than likely is.

How sad! Don't work there. There are many problems starting at the top. My first question as I read your post was who hired her and is permitting her to continue working there. I would contact the owners of that home and let them know what your experience was. You have nothing to lose. Maybe they don't know she is like that (maybe). I can only imagine the problems there must be with the nursing staff. :stone
An interview is a two way street and she obviously did poorly with you! If she acted that way around you, a prospective employee, you can only imagine what else she does or permits to happen.
