Wong's /Peds book question

we are using Wong's for Peds next sem---the text is required- was the clinical skills or study guide helpful-are they worth getting???

I also will have the peds ATI and will get the little RN notes Peds/OB flp book for clinicals- any other things helped you? thanks!

i just finished peds and we used wong's 7th edition. i'm not sure what edition you're going to use, but i personally didn't get much from the book. i wouldn't buy the extra wong stuff, esp since you have the RN notes. Good luck!

I just finished Peds and my instructor told me that Wong's manual would become my "Bible"......NOT.....I did not get much help and I felt like I wasted my money!!!

I bought the Wong book for Peds and never used it. Other people may find it helpful, but I wish I would have saved my money on that book. I give it two thumbs down.:down::down:

Wong's book is too over-detailed. Many passages in the book are repetitive, redundant and really state the obvious. The illustrations are pretty good, but I really wouldn't do much of the reading, just reference to the tables and read key points at the end of the chapter. I wouldn't buy anything extra.

I totally agree! I just finished OB/PEDS and the Wong book was not great!

I will be using the Wong's book for my peds/OB. Thanks for telling me now I know that I do not need to buy the extra wong's stuff.

I used Wong's in my jr year... it was a waste get reviews n rationales for child health which was very helpful. my professor really didnt use the book! i jus sold it back!!

What I found is that if your school uses a test bank for exam questions those annoying study guides and website resources are invaluable. I often found the exact same question on an exam and just being familiar with that publisher's type of questions was also helpful to me. Good luck.

My professor made up her own exams so I was not able to use the review book for anything! It was a total waste!

wong's peds book was a total waste. stick to the powerpoint. the book is not great
