I was wondering:rolleyes:

Would you still do this if you won the lottery?????

I was wondering would I still do this if I won the lottery. I went to play the power ball lottery today, because today was just awful and I figured why not play the lottery. The jack pot is 60 million.

As I sat and pondered how I would spend my winnings. I wondered could I really not ever nurse again???

I think I would still be a nurse somehow it is in my blood part of me. Although with a 60 million dollar bank account behind me I would definately say when, where and how I would be a nurse.

What about you????? What would you do????

I would not work. I believe I couldnt have enough mal practice insurance to cover me as soon as somone found out I was a multi millionaire they would have law suites coming and going. I would pay off my bills, set my kids up for life and travel and enjoy the rest of my life.

Very good point! Hadn't thought of it from that angle...

I would do it, for free, in underserved countries all over the world. Like a working vacation!

Now that's what I'd do, fer sure! :)

(When not lobbying for better working conditions for nurses, that is... ;) ... and OF COURSE, make sure we had some scholarship $$ for the new grads.... )

Oh yes... and I'd enjoy it more because I wouldn't HAVE to do it.

2ndCareerRN,

I'm with ya!

I think I would also have to have a couple of of PRS's.

PERSONAL RETREAT SETTINGS

One in Galveston maybe, and possibly a whole mountain in Montana.

Specializes in Telemetry, Case Management.

Absolutely not!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'd take the money and run! Go travelling, pay off all my bills, buy two or three new houses, buy new cars for my whole family, give money to church, pay for kids' college, but work????????????????????????? Never ever as long as I lived.:D

Well, I have done it again. I have collected a small stack of Lotto tickets here on the computer desk since August. I check the tickets every 3 - 6 months.

Specializes in LTC, assisted living, med-surg, psych.

Yes, I'd still work (after taking about 6 months off to do some traveling), but under MY terms and in MY own long-term care facility. I'd bring in the Eden Alternative people and run it like a REAL home, with pets, plants & so forth.:)

As a NURSE??!!

Not only NO, but HELL NO!!

I would, of course, like everyone else, pay off everything, set the kids up for life, pay off hubby's school loan...

Then.... travel, write, maybe even write about travel! Read all the hundreds of books I haven't had time to read and hire a housekeeper and a cook!! (That's me on a Royal Carribean cruise!)

Specializes in LTC,Hospice/palliative care,acute care.

>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>.>..I would make a sizable donation to the hospital in memeory of my parents-maybe pay the rent into perpetuity on a few parking spaces so that cancer patients coming from a distance don't have to pay more then 10 bucks a day to park....Then I would take a trip around the world and ride all of the best rollercoasters...Then I would go back to school full time for my RN-then I would work part time-in home care...or hospice...

I would not work as a nurse, but keep my license.

I'd open up a club/spa just for women. All the workers would be men. Very good looking muscular men. In the front would be the salon and spa. Across the complex (separated by an olympic size pool) is the nightclub and restaurant (again staffed by men).

The nightclub would have shirtless men. The restaurant would have men with tuxedos and serve everything from vegetarian foods to the best steaks.

Nurses get 40% off at the salon/spa, free drinks at the nightclub and 20% off at the restaurant. :D
