Wolford college CRNA Spring 2018

Published

Anyone attending wolford college spring 2018 class?

Actually it's not about reputation, you can overcome that if you're really good. If they are not regionally accredited you can never overcome that no matter how good you are. Your degree will never be recognized by other colleges.

Yea I hear you. I just know I'll be really good at anesthesia

I am ALL about the clinical skills . I want to go to a top school for clinical experiences not for the academics, I want to work side-by-side with some of the best med students and MDA residents... If this place can offer all that then IM THERE!

Specializes in CRNA.

Look for a school where you are not limited by residents. You want clinical rotations where you don't compete with residents for cases.

Specializes in ICU.

Lol med residents are exactly what you DON'T want...unless you want them taking all of the cool cases while you get stuck in endo. :)

Are you in a program? Do they take your good surgeries or do you work with them and show them what to do? Lots of times residence look to to RNs for help because they didnt have the bedside experience. I figure that you help them and they help you.

Interested in the differences between programs with residence and those without..

Anyone from Utah planning on applying here soon?

I'm in a program, yes. NO anesthesia residents...I get to do whatever cases I want. You wouldn't be working with them...they would be with their preceptor, and you with yours. You can't have 2 students in 1 case (unless it's a huge trauma that requires multiple CRNAs/MDAs), because only 1 student can count a case at a time.

Oh I see, what school are you from? I didnt know if a residnet was considered a student because they are already doctors. If its an interesting case I think that more students should be allowed in, like for a lung transplant, for instance. I guess it depends on if the surgeon lets you in.

I'd rather not say which school I'm at. Per the COA you can count these types of cases if there are 2 students/residents: "Two students share a complex case where there is opportunity for both learners

to have significant learning (e.g., liver transplants, rare cases, massive trauma,

complicated cases requiring two anesthesia providers)"

Hi everyone,

I applied to 2 CRNA schools and did not hear back from them . I was wondering anybody got any recent updates about wolford accreditation ?? I was told they are still accepting students for the August cohort , which is a bit surprising and that the start date for the program is still not confirmed

A couple weeks ago the director said they are waiting in the final word from Keizer Univ. It could be a month, it could be six months or more . They are just waiting and could not give me an answer at all bc even they don't know.

WOWZERS! Not sure if I would want to attend a program that "#Don'tEvenKnow" Hopefully this whole Keizeter thing works out. Not sure if I wanna apply here.

I personally think it's unfair of the college to advertise that they are merging with Keizer uni without even getting all the necessary requirements completed. It seems like they are selling dreams. Don't come out advertising an august 27th start date when you haven't gotten the go ahead from the necessary authorities.
