Hello guys,
I am taking my NCLEX tomorrow December 30, 2015 and I really feel unprepared. I admit I luck the preparation since i am working, and its hard to balance work from studying. I graduated 5 years ago (I am a graduate nurse from the Philippines and local RN)
, so I really really feel down on my exam tomorrow. I hope I can pass, any advice guys? How can I enhance my study habits and improve my learning retention (in preparation for my retake just in case) I didnt enrol in any review course online (due to my work)but i did use saunders and kaplan (software) for my review at home. But i still feel very unprepared, its like i still need to read a lot of books and review all the concepts in nursing school. But still im hoping I can make it tommorow since I really want to be a RN. I will let you know if make it and if not. Thank You

The secret to passing- STUDY! I am assuming, excuse me for doing so if I'm wrong, that English is a second language for you, so I'm sure that makes it more difficult for you. For two weeks before I tested all I did was answer questions and then study the rationale given- it's not about the right answer, but the most right!
Good luck, try to just relax. If you fail, at least you know that next time you need to put some more time into studying.

Since it's too late to reschedule the exam, your best course of action is to spend all day today doing questions and reviewing your labs. Do not attempt to review contents, you will get contents by default when reviewing rationales.
Study plan of attack: Maximize your time but do it in a non-stressed manner.
Do questions in a relaxed manner; whenever you feel rushed or stressed out, take a break--when anxiety goes up, retention goes down.
Specifically: On Saunders CD questions, pick Study, Content, then do Safety/Infection Ctrl and Delegation, alternate every 10 questions.
Lastly, spend up to 10 minutes if you must, but get the first question right...and use that first question as a reference for whether the subsequent questions are in the passing or failing levels.
(*First question is a passing level question)

jo.erno take it from me, I just took the NCLEX-RN yesterday at 8:00AM stayed there the entire 6 hours and only made it to question 184. This was my 3rd time. I looked on the site and saw my name and license number and cried and thank the Lord. I graduated in 2013 and I had few obstacles that got in my way but I never gave up. Go with what you know. I took the online Kaplan course last week from 9PM to 12AM and also work a full time job. It is possible, I promise you. I used the Kaplan Decision Tree on a few questions and others I tried not to think too much into the question. They are trying to determine if you are a competent nurse. I did not know a few of the medications which was tough. I can add so much more information to this reply if need be.

Hi, could I have the access to Kaplan. I am failed 2 weeks ago.....
You can purchase access online from the Kaplan website. Sharing access to paid copyrighted material is against the rules here and the ToS/ELUA at Kaplan. Good luck
got it. thanks.

its ok, just relax, I worked full time and tried my best to study when I could, its too late to try and cram, if its not in your head now its just not there, critical thinking is the key, you may know more than you think... good luck, just review your labs, I don't think its a good idea to study the day before.....I just chilled with my girls the day before and the morning of to keep my mind off being stressed. I have been a LPN for 21 days now :)... good luck tell us the good news tomorrow
HI!
Should I say this as Good News? My Exam which is supposedly today just got unscheduled due to some technical problems in the testing center where will I take the test (internet problem due to the recent typhoon that hit the area). Went there an hour ahead of my scheduled time and there were only 2 of us who will gonna take the test. Gosh! the moment i knew that we (there were 2 of us candidates) have to reschedule the exam, I was like, wow, I got more tensed and nervous. I just received an email from pearson but there was no available schedule yet for me to resched my exam. Still waiting though, My ATT is good until next week, but if the problem is not yet resolved till next week i am planning to enrol on NCSBN (my co-candidate advised me to) online review. Well thank you all for the advise guys, I really really really appreciate it a lot. @ faith02, COngrats! Happy to hear that you made it! Hope Im next....

Wow! He was looking out for you. My advice to you is to keep doing questions till your test date. Make sure you review the rationales and to most def focus on where you lack content. Also, don't forget to review your labs. Wishing you the best of luck and keep us posted!
