will I be able to get my license without attending the oath-taking?

Published

Hi guys, I took the Local Board last june 2007 and now I am at the states and I am about to take NCLEX. Though a license is not a requirement in the state where I wish to apply for licensure, I really want to have a license in the Phils. since I really did studied hard for the local board and I want to go back there and serve my own country, in time. Someone told me that even if i do pass, I will not have my license if I do not attend the oath-taking, is this true? is there some way I can get my license even if I am not currently residing in the philippines? thank you so much.. oh and, I do hope all of us who took the 2007 board exams will pass

You can get a license if you are not in PI for the oath taking.

But be aware that you cannot get a VSC if you do not pass the NLE exam.

Just something else to consider. But again, what type of visa are you on in the first place?

mjoylicious: i got my PRC license without attendng the oath taking.:)

Just to throw something into this:

If you are on the H-4, and just graduated from school and were out of the country in June to test, not sure that you will meet the residency requirements to be able to get the EAD now thru your father. There are strict residency requirements that you must meet as well, and they are going to be very picky right now with that. If you tested in June, then you do not meet the 60 day requirement.

Something to be aware of.

the oath taking ceremony is just a formality, the actual oath is in paper, the one that you sign at the PRC when you pass along with other papers that you have to sign there. when you pass the NLE, you have to report to the PRC, submit a photo, be there for fingerprinting and signing. if you do not go through this procedure, you will not be issued a license bec it is required that you show up in person at the PRC prior to issuance of a license.

but i still can get it when I go back to the Philippines right? Is there a time limit? Like if I go back after 5 years and that's the only time i will claim my license.. is that allowed?

hey guys! you have to go through the initial registration by filling up forms, fingerprint and etc., before you can file for verification of license for visascreen?

if the results will be out now, is it alright you submit to PRC the verification of license ahead of the initial registration?

thanks!

in my case, the only requirement I lack for my visascreen is the phil board. im a june2006 passer, waived my license and took the boards last june2007.

is okay if i submit the verification of license to PRC first before the initial registration?

thanks
